I'm just going to bring up two instances of him being a good dad. This man literally teamed up with his op and was literally willing to die for Gohan. When Raditz came around. I was heading into the comments to say something similar, Goku wasn't a bad to Gohan, pulled up to multiple enemies trying to protect him, literally died for him in the first arc of Z, and this is all without any real formal training or family unit of his own. Vegeta near-death Goku, Frieza critically injured this man so bad to the point where he used the Spirit Bomb and it freaking failed and he did not know what to do and it literally took him unlocking something he didn't know how to do which was super saiyan out of nowhere. But even then freezer was still fighting him in that form. In a whole planet died because he wasn't strong enough to beat the bad guy

Goku hasn't really done much to be a "bad father" and Piccolo hasn't done a ton to be a good one. Goku's been good to his kids every time we've seen them. The only exception would be when Goku had Gohan fight Cell, but that's because Gohan was literally the only one strong enough. Goku also never really abandoned his kids for a long time, he was just dead.

It also didn't work on a Vegeta. Team Four Star finish their Bridge series with boo bites so I'm guessing you didn't see it. But they point out how uneffective the spear bomb is. Because one of the reasons why Goku doesn't use it on cells because since cell is a mixture of everyone he would also be pure of heart. And literally the Spirit Bomb is supposed to be a One-Shot to all evil period And if you're not evil it should do little to no damage to you

You're right about the spirit bomb but given Cell's attitude and actions after he reached his perfect form. Evolving past the need to consume people and absorb the cyborgs. I find your reasoning to be flawed. I think its just more likely that he wanted Gohan to take the reins so he didnt bother. Using spirit bomb would require everyone to jump Cell which literally no one was doing until Goku died. The other thing is that simply, Goku didnt gain enough power for the spirit bomb. For both times. With Buu he got power from billions of people so it was enough.

Because during that time what people don't get was that Goku was basically obsessed with the idea of freaking retiring basically after Frieza. And then came to the Epiphany that Gohan been keeping up. So that's why he does the whole hear Sell heal up because he wants to know if Gohan can actually hang. Then with my wholesale point is that sell is never truly evil. He's as evil as Goku is he doesn't act in Malice when we first meet him. And there's already a running Theory right because you have to consider this that Vegeta got hit with the Spirit Bomb and he survived. He was blatantly evil back then but what is argued the reason on why he survived was that he wasn't completely he was still a victim of his own situation. Which would mean depending on how truly evil you are will determine how much a damage is you. So when you consider cell has both Krillin Goku Gohan and the rest of the Z fighters who are all pretty pure of heart. And I am not mentioning the bad because technically it would be very much outweighed by how much good is in him and the people of good that is in him. But to get to what was trying to get a that sells truly not a evil character. He was born for one purpose he saw the purpose through. The Cell Games was literally not malicious he literally gives the world a fighting chance. You can make an argument when he came back he was evil but even then you could really just chalk that up to him being a sore loser than evil. But that more feeds into the ultimate story of that for Goku is him realizing okay yeah the world is not ready to be without me. Because Gohan single-handedly just stalled the world to death LOL

I gotta disagree with this movie being bad because Vegeta being too shook to fight actually makes sense when his whole life he wanted to be THE legendary super saiyan and then he actually goes against THE legendary super saiyan who is immensely powerful at the time, it only makes sense for Vegeta specifically to be too shook.
