This laser may work for you. I would recommend the ortur laser master two pro over this machine. You can get an enclosure which I would definitely recommend to help with ventilation. Then once you get your laser it will make it a lot easier to use it instead of just going in to it blind. Machines like this take lots of testing to know what settings to cut different materials at and engraving. Again do lots of research on the machine you think you’re going to buy before you actually buy it. Again I like the ortur laser master two pro I have a video on that and it is a really safe laser as it has lots of safety features.

Hi ,, there is a issue with the laser .. look carefully at around 5.35. You will notice that the cut in horizontal plane is much thinner (actually half) than the cuts in the vertical plane. This is because the claimed square beam pattern is nowhere near square and more a rectangle. This means cuts in the vertical planes need twice as many cuts as the horizontal. A bit of an annoyance.

Hello thx for the video really well explained. Can you tell me how to turn on The light please? Thank you so much
@TimberWood.Customs3 жыл бұрын
If you mean how to turn the laser pointer on to know where your laser is located, go up to the top and go to one of the top settings which you will find device settings or machine settings and then in there you’ll see allow laser to fire and then you click that on. Then you’ll just have to restart light burn and when you open it up again that setting will be turned on and you can use it

@@TimberWood.Customs I'm thinking of upgrading from the LM2 20w to the LM2 Pro LU2-4 LF...I'm now considering whether this S9 would b a better purchase? Have U had any experience with Orturs LU2-4 LF (or LU2-4 SF) at all?
@TimberWood.Customs3 жыл бұрын
@@neilrisley1321 Yes! If you are talking about the LU2-4 20w LF with the air assist function, then yes I have used that laser and it works so great with the air assist. Right now due to set up issues, I’m using the LU2-4 20w LF over the S9 for production of 225 ornaments. Honestly they’re very close in specifications. But it all comes down to the safety features. They S9 cuts great but I’m not really sure if it has any safety features like the ortur pro which have saved me a couple times. Honestly it’s kind of a hard decision to me because they are both great lasers. If you’re planning to cut anything super thick then definitely go for that S9

Hi and thank you for the super helpful videos! I'm new at this and looking for the best laser for my purpose. It's for a small business use engraving wood mainly and need to do this in series. I'm very interested in the cutting function too. As I understand there's no homing on the S9 but it's included for the Ortur LM2. I'm really hesitant between those two machines at the moment but from different reviews, it also seems like the S9 has better precision at engraving and better cutting... Any recommendation please? Thanks

I would definitely recommend the ortur pro it is sturdy, softer and you can switch out laser heads anytime. I would say what is best for u is the ortur

Hello dear yesterday I arrived at S9, I wanted to ask you what is the maximum speed, because the manufacturer tells me 3000 but you recorded at 4000, and then I noticed that making an engraving with the same parameters between S9 and ortur laser master 2 pro S with laser Ortur LU2-4 LF Laser Module 24V/2A the 2 pro is more accurate, have you noticed this difference too?
@TimberWood.Customs3 жыл бұрын
The knly reason it is more accurate is because the S9 needs to be attached to a base to make sure it doesn’t shake. The S9 is really focused on the cutting, it can of course engrave just fine like most lasers but the best feature about it is the cutting
@harryragland78403 жыл бұрын
The "Light Wood" is probably Bass wood. It is denser than Balsa but is light colored, usually clear grained and easy to carve. It grows throughout most of the eastern united states.

Is this powerful enough to cut clear acrylic?
@TimberWood.Customs3 жыл бұрын
Yes depending on how thick it is. But you will need to put something black underneath it so that it doesn’t reflect off of the clearness of the acrylic. You will have to do some testing before you’ll be successful
@Fujcake3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Will definitely be trialling this
@tekmason77363 жыл бұрын
Cutting clear acrylic is not possible with a laser that runs in the visible light spectrum no matter how powerful it is. The light will just pass through the material. Putting something black underneath the material or on the surface will allow you to etch it at the surface where the light does not pass through (and there is heat).

Besides lifting the project wood off the table, is there any other way to reduce the collateral burn around the edges of the material? Maybe lower power with more passes and a layer of painters tape along the cut areas?
@TimberWood.Customs3 жыл бұрын
The more passes u add the more burning even if it’s lower power. And yes u can put painters tape but if u do something that has detail you’ll have to pull out every little piece of tape or if you need to cut then engrave then u risk messing up the engraving. You can also get an air assist that helps with blowing the smoke away to prevent burning

I have the S6 Pro and what a machine. I have built an enclosure for mine with extraction and air assist. Just a tip. If you take out the green protective shield, you will find a metal piece with 4 holes. Remove this and stick (will superglue) it on the end of the green plastic and insert it back in. You will only need to clean the lens half as much. I found the green cylinder trapped the smoke and made the lens. Hope this helps you.
