You are wasting your money if you buy injector cleaner and octane boost. It .ay help if the vehicle has been sitting for long time to clean the injectors but it is a negligible amount. Seafoam is a good product, it can legitimately clean your fuel system. You CAN put it in oil just like he demonstrated. If you have buildup, your oil will come out BLACK after a few hundred miles. I have done this on several motorcycles. What he didn’t mention is that you should put seafoam in your engine oil 100-300 miles BEFORE you plan to do an oil change (~ about 2 weeks before you do the oil change). Also, don’t use seafoam on old/worn out engines. If large chunks of gunk are cleaned out it can clog fuel systems or remove ‘seals’ created by the gunk. My bike was sitting for 4 years and running lean. Seafoam cleared out the fuel rails and clogged my injectors. I had to remove the injectors and manually cleaned out the gunk. Bike ran like new afterwards.

However, once he heated the vile up, simulating the engines oil getting up to operating temp, he shook around the hot EPR with the ball bearing and in about 5 seconds all of the liner came off the ball bearing. Good idea to get a lot of junk out of the oiling system on higher milage vehicles, however, sea foam is not a lubricant so definitely don't run this full time. If you want your oil to have detergents I'd say a diesel oil or your regular motor oil with an additive would be a better way to go. I own a 1997 F250 HD with the 351W. The truck has 227k on it and I've been using motorcraft diesel 10W-30. Seems to work pretty good and diesel oil is not bad for these oil pushrod V8s.

I pull the vacuum hose off of the brake booster. Pour seafoam into a solocup so you can see the level of liquid. Put vacuum hose into the sea foam and have ur buddy crank the engine. It will suck all the seafoam in very quickly, just a couple seconds. As soon as container is empty shout for your buddy to shut off the engine. Let it sit for an hour. Will take a bit longer cranking on first start up and will blow out smoke until the the seafoam all burns off. Works much better than running through the fuel tank.

I've been using RVS treatment myself, had good experiences with it. First car i put it in, the oil was still pretty much new when i put in the treatment, after 400km it was almost pitch black, so must have dislodged a ton of carbon deposits. I have been using Sea Foam to clean, decarbon my engines for about 20 years now, I wish I had known about it in the decades before. Following instructions and putting SeaFoam in your crankcase oil 100-300 miles before an oil change produces an amazing amount of internal crankcase cleaning and removal of carbon buildup. If there is one thing that you can do to extend the live of an engine beyond proper oil changes then it's this addition of SeaFoam to the oil changes. SeaFoam does not alter the oil in your vehicle and does not change the viscosity either. SeaFoam has been a winner since 1942.
@thatonecarguy59997 ай бұрын
Actually the best use for seafoam is to pull your vacuum line off your brake booster and while the vehicle is running, it has to be running!! Pour small amounts at a time into that vacuum line but don’t stall engine, do this for about half a bottle of seafoam and then get in your car and idle it to around 2500 rpm. It is gonna smoke like crazy but that’s the seafoam hitting the carbon build up on valve and tops of your pistons and busting it off and expelling it through your exhaust!!! That’s the best use for this stuff.
@automaster2096 ай бұрын

I figured what the heck and put seafoam in the oil and ran it awhile. Then it went to using a quart per oil change. Better than changing the whole engine. I understand it might’ve not been the best thing for the bearings. I never disassembled the engine and inspected it. It worked for me. I kept that pickup a few more years with no issues. I did buy a tuner and turn of AFM after that to not deal with the headache.

In this case, Barryman's Chem Tool will clean injectors better if put in the gas tank. I use one or two cans on a quarter tank and drive to E. Sea Foam is nice in the oil, though, and will boil off and be collected by the PCV system eventually. I've used Chem Tool in extreme cases with malfunctioning valve adjusters, but it's like lacquer thinner. It will also boil off, much more quickly actually, once the engine gets hot. The Sea Foam likely lasts longer in the oil. Both can throw a rich code until they boil off.
