You've done an amazing job, Sean! Your explanations and techniques are right on target. Thanks for putting this video out in KZbin land. I built the MPC release of this kit as a kid, back in the 70s. Nice to see it again.

Some job you are doing some job on this kit that is certainly showings it's age. I have a 1974 Hasegawa 1/32 Me 262 I got as a birthday gift many years ago with raised panel line. This series will be very helpful when I eventually built it

Thank you! I knew going into it that it wasn’t going to be easy (as with most older kits), but it’s really shaping up.

Had to resubscribe to your channel for some reason. Anyway, so stoked to see more of your mastery! I can see already this is going to be another work of art out of the hands of the maestro!

I don't know why people build Puke -51's in the first place. Saying that, you did a good job on the IP, interior and pilot, knowing what kit you started with. Hatch is coolant radiator ventral. Wing to fuse does look correct. VERY NICE! Usually the putty North American put on the wings came off by the time the AC arrived in Theater. {ETO,PTO,MTO, CBO} Please tell me you're gonna put an antenna wire on this puppy! I'd love to hear the cries from the '51 fan girls, they get pissy just because more 47's were built than '51's. Looks good!

Morning Sean - I watched this last night on the big screen (since its a big model) but didn't leave a comment. What a beast that you've wrestled into submission! I would have love to have seen more on how you painted the cockpit and especially the pilot, but really really enjoying this process. However, I think I might rethink my own Airfix build and get on to my Tamiya 1/32's again, as you make a very solid point that if you want an accurate, lovely fitting big scale P-51, just build the Tamiya! Now, what scheme are you going to paint in NMF? Looking forward to that episode too, thanks mate, Chris.
@seanerk5kt93 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris. I filmed painting some of the cockpit but with the pilot in place, you can only see about 2 percent of it so I cut a lot of that video. This has been a real challenge but on a positive note, its making me brush up on my modeling skills. I’m going to be painting it as a red tail, something I’ve never done before.

Your making a good of that model. I never did like the older Airfix 1/24th kits. Somehow just a lot of wasted potential. Are you going to do something about those dreadful exhausts and cut out the cartridge ejection holes behind the guns?
