Searching And Exploring The Potomac And Back Creek For River Loot

Searching and exploring along the Potomac river and the nearby Back Creek from my motorized kayak is the adventure for today. In this video I find a wrecked and abandoned canoe and learn some very interesting things about a old and abandoned river ferry here. I also explore and search an old Baltimore and Ohio railroad bridge crossing looking for Civil War relics from a nearby camp. Come for the canoe, stay for the wicked storm that ends my day.

I believe one reason we enjoy you and your videos so much are adventures like this. We've been there. Not having the equipment we discover we want, deeper water and storms but also the excitement of pinning down a location, returning to a "popular" site for the challenge (?), discovering anything and the invigorating fun of trying to find shelter from the storm only to cede to mother nature and charge through the rain back home with a smile. Thank you for sharing, for taking us along and for continuing to demonstrate its not always what you find but the journey that matters at the end of the day.

It's an old Coleman square back, had one for years with a 2HP honda outboard. It went on countless rivers and lakes in New England.

Santa Claus brought me a Coleman Ram-X Scanoe over 25 years ago & i have loved it. I’ve had it in waters all over the southeast & in the Gulf intracoastals. please fix & take care of her ....hopefully she’ll reunite with her owner, if not, please be good to her.

That's a Coleman Scanoe, worth quite a bit and easily repairable. I had the punt version and replaced the ally tube with stainless. Sold it for more than I paid when I upgraded to a ally punt.

Have you found a kayak paddle that is black in the middle, then silver, and then on the paddle flipper them self it is yellow with black letters "Chute"? It was lost right before the last bridge on the Antietam river. O and 1 flip flop was lost. It was a right foot, blue and orange OP flip flop. Finding .your sweet salvage boat ( I would love to have that boat), that sort of dangerous footing you were on with all the old metal and steel the beautiful bridges...bear in proximity no doubt..the tracks... and an electrical storm!!! you are braver than I am ! I am scared of the combination of lightening and water!! Actually I'm leery of bears too what a huge bear print yikes ! One of your best !!
