I love the look of the classic Felix’s. I have all the different pattern filter covers and I love the look of the classic filter on my Rosso Felix. Can’t get enough of your Sebo vids Roger. Keep up the great work.

A year ago I bought a used Classic also. After a month the powerhead stopped working. I took to the shop and for $80US they got it working but unfortunately the brown connector on the powerhead was replaced with a grey one. Very disappointing. Several weeks later I started having powerhead issues again, but this time clearly related to the hose insert. I decided to try to fix by myself. It turns out the little switch inside the hose receptacle was attached to a microswitch piece that was loosely screwed and wiggled. After tightening a screw on the microswitch assembly I have had no issues for a year. Makes me wonder if the original fix was mis-diagnosed. Great vacuum. I did replace the brush roll, external and internal filter and hose... replacing the cream hose with another really got rid of a little bit of stink the vacuum made when first received and made the whole vacuum look more new. Very classy looking vacuum.

In the older models the microswitch is too short, exactly as short as yours, but it was made so. It's not blocked at all. In the new models they have made it longer.There is nothing wrong with yours. I have 2 ; one new and one old . That's why I know this.

I'm mostly a canister person, the Felix is the one upright I have in my collection and I love it. In my opinion it is one of the best if not the best uprights on the market. I bought mine earlier this year and at least on the United States version, it does still have the microswitch and the power head will not work when the hose is removed.

@@nickliovich The modern ones have a lower rated motor (EU regulations) and the moulding on the handle is a bit different. Other than that it's all the same

I've owned two of these Felixes. My ex-wife threw the first one away for no apparent reason. There again she also threw away a perfectly good cost a fortune Miele washing machine. Anyway, you've shown me a few things I never noticed before, like the handle stem is height adjustable and patterned outer cloth wrap is actually also another filter. The first one did have a known fault though. The Sebo engineer diagnosed what was wrong over the phone and then, I as an engineer myself, was quite able to fix the problem. The power cable wires over time have a habit of breaking the copper strands inside the leads as they enter the handle without cracking their insulation sheath. This can give an annoying intermittent power loss fault. A simple continuity test between each wire end and the cable plug pin will confirm or not. If confirmed, just cut off 6" cable and discard, then prepare the cut ends and rewire the individual leads back to the on/off switch connector block

Just checked on my 2013 model Felix Rosso (pre EU regs) and it has the microswitch in the hose cuff dock. The switch is very sensitive, and only has to be pressed in slightly to engage the powerhead, so the hose doesnt even need to be in fully for the powerhead to come on. If yours is not working even with the hose fully pushed in, then the switch or its actuating lever are faulty.

Roger. Almost looks like they used the hose too much and wore down the end of the nozzle. Maybe now it’s not long enough to push down the switch. Hope that helps.

The end of the hose is the length it should be. The problem is the switch which will probably be fixed when I open up the cleaner. Hopefully I’ll have it all working for another video.

I had an identical one, when it was six months old it had to.have a new suction motor. The plastic catches to open the dust bag compartment and to remove the brush roll became impossible for me to use as I have osteoarthritis. Now have a Miele C3 ecoline complete silence 700 watt.

This is not the original D4 I made a long video of a few years ago as it’s a lower wattage eco version. I am planning on making a video of the latest D4 Premium which I consider to be better than the Miele.

Great find. I think that nozzle might be worn down or cut off a bit making it not hit the switch. You could use the large clear vacuum valve type laundry sack and put felix in with sallys volume 30 peroxide and set out in the sun a few hours. I would think it would really get the plastic to whiten a lot. . Its really nice . I want a felix someday as well. thanks for the video.

The end of the hose is not worn, it’s quite short. The cleaner is ivory and not supposed to be white, but some of the parts have discoloured a bit. I have new parts on order and hope to make another video on this Felix to show how I refurbish it.
