Seinfeld didnt make Jerry Stillers hilarious talent shine, only Kevin James recognized his true comic potential. Kevin as a producer is a master of letting others shine at their brightest, by letting Leah and Jerry add their own style he made kingofqueens as epic as it is.

Michael Richards was the Dennis Rodman to Pippen and Jordan's Chicago Bulls. He was the only one hired uniquely for a specific talent, where the others mostly developed together as a team. With Jerry, Jason, and Julia the humor came largely from their comradery and thus the authenticity of their interactions. Its being fun for them made it funny for us, the viewer. With Michael it was much more of a job. He was performing a specific task with extreme precision, a task which would at times be frustrated by the more laid back approach of the other three.

you can be dedicated and not be a jerk in the process. Jason Alexander was a trained actor, he didn't come from comedy like the other three. Still, he was able to create an extremely consistent character while still "having fun in the process". Michael Richards is just not that person, maybe he only regrets being like this in retrospect.

It's hard to say how different things might have turned out had he approached that time differently. In the end they got the product that we know and love, and the bloopers are funny too. Maybe he thinks it would have been better for him personally, and perhaps he's right, but he and they certainly got the results regardless.

Everyone has their process. I fell like for Michael he didn't like the others breaking because it interrupted his flow and staying in character. We also have little context of how long they've been shooting for the day, people get tired and grumpy and just want the day over sometimes. Nah, he's clearly peeved at Jason during the Eskimo line, and Jerry gets a bad look too. He's very protective of his physical comedy, including facial expressions. Doesn't like anybody messing with him. You think Harpo acted like that behind the scenes of the Marx Brothers movies?

I mean, its a comedy show. If you aren't having fun making it, what's the point? It's so strange to see the most aloof character become the most stern asshole, even after just one break from a co-star. still, gotta respect his performance on the show.

12171010011010 exactly. Also factor in playing a goofball nonstop trying not to get the giggles & laugh at yourself. Some of these shots need countless takes due to laughter. The goofier the character, the harder it is for the actor to keep it together. He simply sees too much laughing & silliness as a distraction to keep her persona in check for the cameras.

Almost everyone responding has got it right. Kramer is the only actor that has to do physical comedy on set. And, his character is is the only outlandish character on set as well. Constantly performing that way is a total challenge for any actor. He should be allowed to get upset if other actors screw up.

It’s interesting watching Kramer (Michael Richards) during these outtakes because it was once reported that he whenever these bloopers occurred, they would frustrate him and he would usually end up getting mad. He reportedly didn’t like actors to break character because he didn’t like having to re-do scenes. You can see the frustration in his face in lot of these scenes. A perfect example is at the 4:30 mark when George (Jason Alexander) cracks up. Kramer very seriously tells him, “Don’t laugh. You don’t know how hard this is for me.”
