Does it get more specific -like what exact foods you are intolerant to ? And what specific foods your body does well with -like some ppl go great on grains and others do terrible but great on certain types of animal flesh for protein source? I’m really curious what my genes say about macro ratio my body does best on, doesn’t this dna test show that too? I hope it tells all the diseases your genes say you could get if you don’t eat right and they tell you what exact diet & lifestyle you’d need to love to avoid that as best as possible??

Did you try it?
@Alykat736 Жыл бұрын
@@theboraxbandit9563 yes, my husband & I took it. Most of the results I could have guessed bc I watch how my mind works & my body . The one thing I found valuable was it told me what vitamins I’ll need to supplement & in what form my body can absorb

@@Alykat736 I'm glad you found it at least somewhat useful. Using your intuition is important but I feel like such a test could be worth it for even a small golden nugget.

At your first segment it reminded why I’m ambivalent about these sorts of things. I had a DNA test which told me I was sensitive to caffeine. That’s just plain not true. I can have 8 cups in a day and feel nothing, I just like the taste. And then suddenly I can go days without it, I can take it or leave it. I’m sure it is genetic as my dad is the same, and my mother and brother don’t have a lot of caffeine.

Many genes depend on methylation, histone arrangement, age, lifestyle, life experiences, environment, and multiple other factors that affect genetic expression. Genes aren't limited to being linearly causal. With our current technology genetic reports can only point toward probabilities.
@jnnx3 жыл бұрын
Just because your tolerance is built up, doesn’t mean you aren’t sensitive to caffeine.

Based on your genetics, are there certain types of meat that you shouldn't eat? Did you try to stop eating any type of meat after you reviewed your DNA reports?

And are they allowed to re-sell the results of your testing? Where does this data go? Buyer beware, testing such as this goes beyond providing you with your DNA results. The results are then put into a larger database and sold unless you specifically do not let them sell your data.
@HealthCoachKait3 жыл бұрын
They do not re-sell or share your data. You own it 100% 👍

I guess this is the level above the Carnivore diet... Based on your results, what plants are you going to be eating?
@HealthCoachKait3 жыл бұрын
There weren't any particular plants that I feel I NEED to include based on my results. However, the fact that I am at a higher risk of electrolyte deficiencies makes me feel like included potassium rich foods such as avocado and mushrooms is a good idea 👍

@@colebeathler7272 of course. You can't assume everything is 100% accurate. As I said in my conclusion, it can be a good jumping off point though 🙂
