I have my issues with them, but they’re legitimately elected by constituents who like their politics. The House does not have at-large elections. I will take Carter’s flaws any day of the week over most Presidents. Ford and Nixon were corrupt. And Ford was okay before he got to the office it seems. Nixon could have been a great POTUS but he became a crook.

My dad would tell me me during the oil crisis when he gave speeches to the American people to try to not use too much heat and try to warm yourselves better in the house so that we can save money and not rely too much on oil. He was criticized for that. You’re he was way too honest. The movie Argo of the hostages that did escape from Iran safely…he didn’t once took any credit for that. And he could Have and probably helped him in the election. It definitely would Not have hurt but in the movie at the end when he narrates he said that not bringing out in the public was important to not cause any harm to the hostages there at the time. I can’t see any president today democrat and definitely republican be as honest as this man was. Reasons why he was a one term president because of it.

I actually got to meet Jimmy Carter at the Summer Work Project on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in Eagle Butte South Dakota in 1994! He visited each house under construction! He was very friendly& kind to all the 1,200 volunteers from the USA and Europe ! Carter was a graduate of the US Naval Academy, a Nuclear Engineer and a submariner!
