@@McAppl3d Oh I thought it was just supposed to be a cheeky subversion of the riddle fetch quest trope. Characters are always sent on these fetch quests that are actually just riddles they have to figure out as some kind of character test, but Greg is so in tune with how this world works that he just figures them all out immediately.

I literally made an NPC for dnd that was an eldritch being trapped in a lantern that could do all sorts of fun stuff and immediately upon introducing him one of my players just kind of looked at me and was like “this is the dnd version of the beast from over the garden wall isn’t it”

I have a tradition that’s been going for years where I watch over the garden wall and have the last episode land on Halloween. This show is so good (I even named one of my frogs after the infamous Dr.Cucumber) also Greg is so wholesome and his chemistry with wirt is great

It's neat how in this scene despite Greg's joke, you can the Beast in the background, a subtle hint to how Wirt is too lost in his despair to acknowledge his brother's attempts to lift his spirits.

Sometimes the “out of context” videos of shows feel like a condensed distillation of the exact comedy of the show. But the vibes of this show being removed makes the comedy level AMP UP TO THE MOON Like these things feel way less random in context, but it overall gives the vibes that this show is just straight non-sequitur comedy lmao
