Your lessons are superb thank you! When you mention the bones something changed for me in how I let go - what a wonderful discovery! It's like my mind stops trying to relax the muscles - something I have still struggled with in somatic pandiculations - i just try way too hard. Such a great cue to sense the bones!
@SensingVitality4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Sarah-Jane. Yes-- directing one's awareness to the bones is a useful tool on so many levels. I'll be curious what you discover as you apply this to your work and life...

Thank you Annie. I love FK and as a professional violinist this is like gold dust for the fingers! Not only relaxing the hands but as you say it heightens the sensory acuity.

It’s amazing how much you can get with so little with the Feldenkrais Method. Powerful but gentle. Best investment for oneself.

Lovely Exercises Annie ! There’s tingling sensation in my fingers already… dunno if that’s good or bad though??? It’s been a while since someone asked about exercises for the feet . Is there a video for the feet? Thanks Annie
@SensingVitality2 жыл бұрын
That tingling is probably good-- usually is sign of circulation. If it's nerve tingling, do less-- smaller and gentler movements. Have you heard of anyone using Feldenkrais Method to address musician's focal dystonia of the hand? Thanks.
@SensingVitality8 ай бұрын
It's a tricky situation since focal dystonia can get worse by focusing too much. It may sound odd, but I recommend asking one's body what is needed to separate the "firing together" phenonmenon. It's possible to make a dystonia worse by wiring more things with it... so be careful to not push solutions and listen in to what the. body is needing. This kind of communication is a whole different language-- much like listening to trees or cats, which is why I work with nature awareness so much in my work with Feldenkrais.

Wonderful exercise! My fingers feel a lot "looser" now, only my right thumb is still a little stiff. How often can this exercise be repeated? Would it be ok to do it several times a day?
@anniethoe42847 жыл бұрын
Hi Felizitas, Glad to hear this worked so well for you. Yes you can repeat this a few times during the day -- it's considered more of a lesson than exercise. Like with music practice, you can slow this lesson down and do pieces of it to bring more awareness into the movement sensation which will bring better results and relaxation for long term feeling of ease in your hands.
