Theory that this is a secret prequel to the movie 'SCREAM' I mean think about it... the psycho mother loves to torture her victims on the phone and she has a son played by 'Matthew Lillard' and he was a psycho in the movie 'SCREAM' who also likes to torture his victims on the phone...also Matthew's character from 'serial mom' was obsessed with horror movies just as his character was in 'SCREAM'.

When I was 6/7 I watched this movie, I was super disturbed by the death of her son's friend Scotty, burned alive during the concert while people cheers for her and no one shocked, it really disturbed my innocent mind.

It's funny I was the same way when I first saw this as a kid since I am a fan of Justin Whalin Childs Play 3 along with Lois and Clark plus the other work he did. I always got pissed off he died because he was chips friend so you would think she wouldn't kill him but then everyone is cheering while he is being burned alive and even the band taking part of it. I always thought it was dumb they would be guilty of murder themselves but the movie is dark comedy horror. I was watching this a bit last night and thought it was so stupid LOL not in a bad way just that nobody would believe she's not guilty along with cheering for her being on her side buts that's dark comedy horror LOL.

This is around the same era Ozzie but off a live bat's head 😭 Though that was sort of accidental on his part bc he literally thought it was a rubber bat thrown on stage the effect lasted FOREVER. Rock shows were known for doing crazy bullshit for shock value. I think they probably thought he was fine.

For a while I thought she was played by Cybill Shepherd. I first saw this movie on tv, back in 2000’. The other movie I saw Kathleen Turner in was “War of the Roses” with Michael Douglas and Danny DeVitto. That was definitely a darker movie than this. Using a leg of lamb as a weapon of choice is one of the most bizarre kills I have seen. The prank call and when she was silencing the witness by vigorously opening and closing her legs were hilarious!

@9:54 ~ I will say that I was extremely excited and above the moon when I first watched the movie and saw that this was based on a true story. That’s obviously what the text is implying. At least that’s how I took it. And then I came crashing down when I searched and found out it was not based on a true story. I was young and didn’t realize how impossible it was to be true. I mean I did understand that movies often fictionalize stuff, but I was really thinking for a few minutes and maybe she did commit multiple murders like that to some degree.

Scott "Scotty" Barnhill: One of Chip Sutphin's friends (smashed By falling stage lights and set aflame onstage with an aerosol can and a lighter during a Camel Lips heavy metal concert at the local Hammerjack's club at around 2:47pm for witnessing Ms. Jensen's murder and simply not wearing seat belts). Juror #8: An unindentified blonde eighth juror during Beverly Sutphin's explosive and controversial murder trail (bludgeoned with a telephone by Beverly Sutphin after the verdict of not guilty at around 3:20 PM on Thursday, October 7, 1994, for wearing white shoes after the Labor Day holiday despite the juror firmly believing Mrs. Sutphin throughout the trail).
