I wonder if it could help us imitating Paul's service : take the view from behind in slow motion , so we dont have to convert/reverse the mvt in our brain. Thanks for sharing knowledge.

Great video! Spin intensity & placement are soooooo under used in amateur level like mine. A simple change in backspin intensity can do marvel while keeping the same movement.
@TomLodziak
@TomLodziak 5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It's a nice feeling when you make a subtle change to the amount of spin which the other player doesn't read and puts the ball in the net. They then inspect the racket as those it was the racket's fault. Ha, ha! NOT the racket's fault. You didn't read the spin!

The reason why subtle variations are good enough for the pros is they only need very little to attack the 3rd ball effectively and consistently

How does Paul stomp when serving?I find it difficult to do that
@wonderingsock8576
@wonderingsock8576 5 жыл бұрын
It's practice. But most experienced players know that the stomp is in sync with the ball contact. Top players may stomp a bit earlier to throw a bit of confusion ;)

This is a common problem that many people face. If you are right handed, you need to move your left foot first after serving. And if you are left handed, move your right foot first after serving. This doesn't only make stomping easier, but also helps getting to your ready position quicker.

How do you attack close to the net without hitting it over the table
@imaden
@imaden 5 жыл бұрын
You have to do the "flick" , very fast topspin close to the net but with relaxed wrist so you can safely attack :-)
@TomLodziak

@mojtabaghafoory8474 5 жыл бұрын
If ball goes to your wide forehand.use cross step First: turn back and stand to right side. second jump with ur left foot and hit the ball. Also use hook forehand loop to avoid hitting ball outside the table.

You have options. If you are back from the table, you will need fast footwork to get close to the ball. You can do this with sidesteps, but crossover footwork is probably better. If you are close to the table, you may find that you only need one step to get close to the ball and then you can block or counter-attack. But I think they key is to make sure you are watching your opponent and see as earlier as possible when the ball is going wide, so you have the maximum amount of time to react.
