We can only hope that if Bluepoint releases a Definitive Edition of this game in 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, they include full access to the very top of the temple. It's a given that the map would probably be expanded in order to include some or all of the missing colossi, but getting to the top of this structure without any type of hacking has been the dream of so many fans. Let's keep our fingers crossed that in 2025 something very special is planned for this very special game.

This game has truly done something unique among video games (and most other media for that matter) in that no matter how much time passes the allure of the world within it never disappears. Even though it's just code in a machine and there is a finite amount to discover within its versions. Even though the developers have made a new game in the same world, expanding its scope even further... This game still feels like it has something else to show you. It draws you in and makes you wish it were real, makes you wish you could be there in the flesh, makes you wish that there was more! And without this channel, even most people who played the game all the way through would never know about the secrets of its past. Thanks to all the people who helped put the mystery together by sorting through old data, making it playable, and sharing it with the rest of us!

That's how I feel & I'm sure many others do too. I've played plenty of open-world games & many of them have nice vistas to admire, plenty of terrain to explore, & are overall decent well made games. But none of them draw me in quite the way "Shadow Of The Colossus" does. It doesn't take much imagination to feel like I really am in that world. For a game that's now 18 years old, it continues to be played, explored, studied, scrutinized, discussed. That says something.

I have always symbolized this game as life itself. In general, this is about climbing to the top of something that when we see it seems impossible. And as it happens in life, sometimes we find ourselves in worse situations than we think we can overcome. This game makes that fear of self-improvement disappear by putting huge obstacles that represent our weaknesses. And that is why SOTC has marked my life. Thank you Nomad for continuing to keep the flame of this artistic jewel burning.

This is super super cool. I love everything that has to do with the central temple/tower in the game because it is one of those things they just don't let you climb or explore, and because of the lighting and distance, it is super difficult to see. The PS4 remake seems to make it much easier to spot with more detail but it was always this huge mystery to me when I played this game on release back in 2005. I wonder if this E3 demo temple top is much different from the final game, I would love to see a far away view of both temples and kind of compare the differences between the two. And maybe if there is a video or a chance to do this same thing in the retail game, show us how we can do it too

This game's architecture and visuals seem to trigger something in my brain. Every time I boot it up or watch these videos, especially if they're longer than a few minutes, I get that extremely specific feeling again, as if a dedicated set of neurons lights up. Something like a strange, entirely simultaneous intersection of awe, the sad feeling of having lost something, the feeling of finding something I thought was lost, and a deep sense of being in exactly the right place. Love that you're still exploring and making videos.

A long time ago I thought I remembered reading something on this channel saying that there's something super secret on top of the shrine in the demo. Not that I'm surprised that there isn't anything there, but still a very interesting watch regardless (I think it was referencing how they probably culled a lot of the geometry for optimization). Very cozy and nostalgic with the narration and audio, great upload as always :)

Been watching your videos and reading your site for years. Currently playing the PS4 update with the intent to at least get all the collectibles and explore as much as possible. Really wish the update had filled out tge world more, though with the ability to actually climb all the way to very top, to see beyond the gate, or to explore some previously unreachable areas...

Nomad, SpaceOmega5000, and Wisi, THANK YOU for your continued efforts on this game. I followed the secret seeker board back in the day. I remember when someone (Pikol?) Got to the top of the shrine and the community sadness at it having no collision. Amazing to see this be fixed however many years later! Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a build that did have collision? And one where the blocks in the final version of the Secret Garden that Wander can't grab were removed? All signs point to the developers wanting you to be able to climb all the way to the top, even if you probably couldn't see much due to draw distance and bloom.

I tried several times to climb up in the garden but I fail , I already reach the entrance many times but there's an invisible force that pushing my character outside.. I tried it on ps2 emulator version in my mobile device..

This is insane! I wonder if while standing at the top you are able to spot any of the areas where the old collosi were supposed to lay or does this E3 demo doesn't longer contain the old areas, old collosi and original colossi arenas?

Sadly, there are no old colossi arenas even in this early build. This version has the normal 16 bosses although some were less developed etc.

This doesn't exist in the game. In this early version there is no secret garden! Check out the video description for details.

The final retail versions are completely different to this early build! You just need to watch a YT video of the secret garden to see.
