Why was Kobe so different from anyone else except MJ? His mind! His WILL TO WIN! HIS SKILLSET! I love his mind. HE IS MY FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME. It was Magic before Kobe. Once I started to follow Kobe, he separated himself from anyone else.

Never forget Battier with the hands in the face and Kobe still draining the shots in the West Finals. Who but Kobe would practice hitting shots with a hand in his face.

Each bite of a Black Mamba snake has over 3x the amount to kill a human… and yet it strikes again and again and again…. During Kobe’s crazy peak 03-08 he was basically doing the same thing.. he wasn’t just trying to win, he was trying to ABSOLUTELY DESTROY. I think it was fueled by the Colorado case. He literally played out of going to jail… that’s insane lol

When I think back to 05-06 and the crazy scoring runs he had…man he was dismantling entire teams by himself it was something special. 62 in 3 quarters outscoring the mavs…the same mavs that went to the finals that year. Obvi the 81 point game. The consecutive months of him avg 40ppg. He was the first player in nba history to drop 40 points on every single franchise (except the lakers) this man was different

What an amazingly full answer to that question that I feel like Draymond was ready to be passive toward early on when the answer favored Shaq but it was so eloquently put that the Kobe we know and love was built off of that animosity of feeling like people thinking it was Shaqs team and not his. We probably don't get 24 Kobe had it not been for 2nd option Kobe with Shaq. Really loved his answer.

Agree with what they said about Mamba mentality. So many talk about it just thinking about being fearless on the court. But until you’re ready to train til you pass out, then when you wake up, you keep training. Then when you’re not training, you’re watching all the film. Greatest player is arguable, but Kobe is definitely the greatest student of the game

Thank you Shane for sharing. That's what I miss black Mamba and mamba mentality, always persuing excellency, stays greatness, a truely professional, represents Lakers Nation. Not about individual record, always winning, hate losing. Kobe would lose sleep if one game he under perform. He would stay hours after game to put the work in and making sure not happen again. Sorry to say, I don't see that anymore with anyone in our current Lakers' player. That is why we are where we are currently, 9th and 10th spot.

Kobe studied the game in the film room, he practiced early and late, before games and after big losses. He shot 45 percent on primarily jumpers with guys draped all over him. The media tried to lie about him by saying he was inefficient. Strange, the media never once said Ray Allen was inefficient and he shot 45 percent for his career. There is not a starting two guard in the history of the NBA who shot 50 percent from the field. Curry, MJ, Allen, Wade, etc.

Players who manage to score 8-9 threes in a game without defense and talk about Mama Mind, and in a difficult situation they can't come out victorious and take steps or lose the ball in a stupid way and in their own half they can't stop their player they don't know what they're talking about, It's pure delusion, no realism...
