I'm having a somewhat similar experience after I saw a girl in my sociology class suddenly show up with a shaved head. Before this, her hair was dyed blue and purple and she actually looks better now. It's so interesting. It suits her so well. She wears glasses and big earrings and she looks cool. Suddenly, I'm inspired to embrace my baldness. My hair stays super low because of a scalp condition and my trichotillomania. I wear wigs every time I leave my house and honestly I'm getting a bit tired of it. I don't have eyebrows or eyelashes currently so the wigs are pretty necessary but as soon as I can get better and allow them to come back in, I want to try to go shaved. Seeing her suddenly show up to class with a shaved head reminded me that honestly no one cares. It can feel like people care, and some do when they shouldn't, but so many people don't care and don't pay you extra attention. You just have to rock it

Yes! The negative attention is so weird! People even believed that I got cancer when I shaved mine D: But I got a sweet story about that: once in the subway a little girl with shave head and a sad expression looked at me with amazed eyes and I smiled at her and she smiled at me and then she was happily talking with her mother. I think she felt relieved at see someone almost like her.

Society seems to attach a woman's femininity to their hair, and when you get rid of it, it's an amazing feeling. I've had a buzz cut for years now and I've had a lot of people assume I'm gay. Which isn't entirely wrong cause I'm bi lol but sexuality and hairstyles have zero correlation with each other?? As for any negative attention, I haven't ever gotten any that directly pertains to my hair. I had a little kid once ask if I was a boy or a girl (he was maybe 3, it's not like there was much I could say? Annoying, but whatever). Otherwise, not styling it is FAN-tastic and so is not having it ever get in my face again. It's definitely empowering. Feeling the breeze on the back of my neck is lovely, I'll probably never grow it out again. I've had people tell me I'm intimidating looking, but if anyone ever tried to just shove their hand on my head I'd hurt someone. That's bullshit and honestly it pissed me off just hearing you talk about it happening.

The money used to raise awareness for cancer goes into supporting the cancer industry which then gets circulated back into more bioweapons and more people get cancer. I shaved my head! The ATTENTION you mentioned is unreal 😂! SO many people who didn't know me had the nerve to ask me if I was sick/had cancer......which was the worst part of it lol but it did feel so good. I'm growing it out, and I really didn't think about how long it would take to grow lol it's been about 6 months and I remember thinking that at this point it would be to my chin 😂 BOY WAS I WRONG lmao. But, all in all I liked the shaved head but the growing out process just takes forever so I doubt I'll ever do it again.

I have a habit of cutting my own hair which tells me it is time for a new cut or style. It all started months ago then ran into a girl witg a buzz cut while hiking memorial day. Went home and cut my hair into a short bob. The following week to a pixie...the following week into a buzz cut...a week later bleached it. Everything you said on this video is true. I wish I would have buzzed my hair down years ago. You were one of the first videos i watched as I did my initial research and def added inapiration. I must have fast growing hair or something because I completely shaved my head and it’s been a little over 2 years, give or take, I’ve cut my bangs once and had 2 trims. It’s a little below middle back but longer than shoulder length. I will admit that shaving my head was very freeing and amazing but I didn’t have a good head shape for it and I like my hair better long. That also may be that I have curly-ish hair I dunno but either way, if you like your hair, keep it! More power to you. Just wasn’t for me. Even though I know no-one will ever read this or anything 😅

I love her so much😍. She was the one who inspired to shave off my damaged hair I seen her on Facebook, KZbin, Instagram, everywhere. I was so afraid of getting laughed at but instead I got so much attention so many people said I was bold, and beautiful, and so much. I stopped waisting money on hair cures shampoo and ect. I just started shaving my head and the increased confidence thing also holds true for guys.. I don't know, but people expect you to behave or be a certain way. I guess it helps that I now look like Walter White (Heisenberg) from Breaking Bad.... In these uncertain times I feel a whole lot better about my self totally bald and that fades after a few days as the hair starts to grow back.... Actually before you do grow it back go that extra step and shave it ALL off... It's the perfect time to do it. Thanks for the vid you looks amazing... Lol just noticed this video is 2 years old. I have a really bad scalp condition and shaving my head is probably the only way I can properly treat it since there is no hair in the way and will allow the product to stick to my scalp. I've been very nervous about it because it's going to be very obvious i have a condition once i do it but the video of you shaving your head and this one have made me feel a lot better and made me realize i shouldn't care what people are gonna say cause i've been dealing with this condition for 7 years and all it's caused me is stress and anxiety from how awful it is. and if this is the only way that's gonna work for me then f**k it. After shaving my head, my scalp issues cleared! Zero scratching now. I finally saw which products worked and which foods made it worse. I have psoriasis, and keeping off sugar & wheat and using a dandruff anti-candida shampoo really did it. Now my hair has grown back, but my scalp is still healthy.
