Shawn's style was a bit more theatrical but at the same time did look a bit phony. Where as Bret looked like it was a true street fight. His technical style and perfection on the moves and psychology was probably the best of all time. Plus, add in the fact that so many top guys in the business have said their best match was with Bret. That list includes Shawn, Austin, Nash, Hennig, 'Taker, X-pac, Davey Boy, Nash to name a few.

These guys were so short-sighted, they could've each been a respective #1 guy. Like having Backlund and Flair within one federation, keeping them apart and making big box office when you get them together. Having a Becker-Edberg thing going where they keep score. 5-7. 8-7. Always having that story running. Always having that angle to return to. And no one gets hurt from losing clean because they'd only lose clean to each other. Instead they got stupid and both got leapfrogged by Austin and Rocky.

Bret had no problems losing to other wrestlers (he lost to Bob Backlund), all he wants out of them is to be respectful in & out of the ring. Shawn respected Bret in the ring but outside of it was another story and that is where the beef ultimately began. All Shawn had to do was show respect to Bret outside the ring and all of this would be water under the bridge.

Some of the greatest promos were from the heat Bret and Shawn had. The build up to their feud was amazing because it was real. WWE knew what they were doing back then and it was must see TV every Monday. Bret was not the greatest on the mic but man could he sell and tell a story. I think WWE should hire Bret just to build storylines and match finishes like a Pat Patterson. Bret just knows how to develop storylines. It’s just too bad they couldn’t run it back one more time because they were always money and had classic matches.

Just stop using the audio from the camera. Buy an audio interface and down a free daw. With an XLR cable go from the output on your mixer with all the mics into the input on the interface.
