Great review. I love this movie and have seen it many times. Does it have obvious flaws and Hollywood embellishment, yes. But I love the cast and it's a fun flick.

I agree. I have just seen this movie earlier today whilst visiting an ill friend in a hospice. We were watching this movie on the screen in his room. It reinforces my idea to put a 10th CFL Team in Quebec City because the interest and funding are there. Plus there is enough talent and capital to put a strong CFL team on the field. This of course applies to the CFL and not the NFL, though the basic thinking remains the same.

The movie "Draft Day" was originally SUPPOSED to involve the Buffalo Bills (NOT the Cleveland Browns) as the team around which the story revolved. But at the time the movie was filmed, NY State Government cared only about NYC (it's still largely that way on most issues -- case in point: to this day, even though Niagara Falls is only a mere 24 miles from Buffalo and is WNY's rightful natural resource, BY NY State LAW, every kilowatt of power generated by the Niagara Falls Power Authority MUST be diverted downstate to NYC to provide the largest voting bloc with the CHEAPEST electric power available ... while the Buffalo/WNY area is forced to obtain its electric power AT A HIGHER COST largely from CANADA [Niagara Falls is in the U.S./Canadian border, and its power-generation capabilities are shared by NY State and Ontario!!!). Because the politicians running NY State only cared primarily about NYC (which can out-vote the entire rest of the State -- and did on the issue of supplying Niagara Falls cheap electric power to downstate at WNY's detriment), they REFUSED to extend tax credits to the movie industry for a film that would largely be shot in Buffalo instead of NYC (had the movie featured NYC, the State would have rolled out the red carpet ... but NOT for "inconsequential" Buffalo). Soooooo, the Hollywood guys pivoted away from Buffalo and featured the Cleveland Browns instead because Ohio gave the movie maker the tax credits sought as the "sweetener" to film the movie there. Thankfully Buffalo NOW is occasionally the target of SOME Hollywood producers willing (and actually WANTING) to film in WNY because NY State finally relented on granting tax credits for filming in locations other than NYC ... but it didn't come in time for "Draft Day." Thanks for nothing, Albany and [Democrat] "one Party rule" in NY State.

What’s the point of the intermingled clips of real NFL games in a fictitious movie?
