This has plenty of media shills like Grace Randolph and Paul Tassi upset with fans. Even calling valid criticism of The Acolyte hate speech because it features a largely minority cast. Unfortunately, none of the criticism stems from race or gender. It's basically the entire production. Tassi takes customers to task for review bombing The Acolyte because he doesn't believe anyone thinks it's worse that Star Wars Holiday Special. The life-long "Star Wars" fan is not the "vocal minority" - they are the "silent majority". There are YT'ers and such who speak out against the poor quality and ruination of the franchise, but most of us have just checked out. These movies aren't being made for us - something they've hammered home time and time again, so we don't watch them anymore. They can't have it both ways. Either you make the movies the majority of us want to see and enjoy your profits, or make the types of movies that promote the agendas most important to you and live with your losses. It's very simple.

They're taking part in this wider and more pernicious social engineering campaign that targets young, impressionable people with woke political ideology (just like all the other media outlets.) Star Wars is gone. If The Acolyte has given us anything worthwhile, it's "closure". This, in part, is why there has been such a vocal response. Those who were on the fence, maybe even still hopeful that Disney would turn things around, have been confronted with the cold, hard truth that Disney is not going to change; they just don't care about the older fans.

It isn't that Kennedy and the rest don't understand the Star Wars audience. They know them about as well as anyone does at Disney. The problem is that they despise the old audience. They despise the nerds and geeks who know the lore and can point out contradictions and plotholes to the kids Disney wants to sell trash. Back in the old days, I didn't know who was behind the scenes. I either liked the story and/or characters or didn't. I knew the actors, that is it. The Republic Commando 5 novel series was awesome. It starts out during the Clone Wars and ends after Order 66 and creation of the 501st. Tons of Mandalorian lore, expands on the “cloner” species, a Padawan & Clone fall in love, and touches on the difference between Republic Clones and Imperial Clones… and so much more.

Never watched the Acolyte in the first place nor will I. I think many star wars fans don't either. I seriously can't grasp why so many people are even watching the Acolyte in the first place. I get why youtubers do it but the actual fans? As soon as I saw the first trailer, I knew it was a dumpster fire. It seems like Nina Gold cast the entire show from headshots without actually auditioning anyone. I was unimpressed with most of the performances in AHSOKA, except for Ray Stevenson (R.I.P.) & Ivanna Sakhno (who should get her own show) and I thought that Bill Burr's guest star turn in Manalorian was the single worst performance in all of Star Wars lore until I saw Moses Ingram as Inquisitor Reva in OBI-WAN KENOBI. But even she seems like Laurence Olivier compared to almost everyone in THE ACOLYTE. The child actors suck, the witches all suck, the jedi are all lame, and the wookie has a weird, hydrocephalic head. It's almost a relief that the scripts are so shitty because if they were good they would have been wasted on this lot. Tell me: How did a 10 year old girl setting a single book on fire instantly kill an entire community in two minutes? That's how you know they botched something and went over-budget: I bet they shot the deaths of that coven and it was so crappy they just cut it and it was such a costly debacle that rather than call that cast back for a reshoot they just stuck their wardrobe on extras who (by laying still), gave the best performances we've seen thus far. The sithlord that showed up in the last minute of the 4th episode is the only remotely Star Warsy thing on screen thus far, and we know he'll be dead or inconsequential by series end. This show is a canker sore in a cancerous mouth. The silver lining is that anyone who was actually looking forward to a dope show about space witches will have the new DUNE: PROPHECY series on MAX to look forward to.

I remember when Disney bought SW. I was so excited I'd be getting more stories. Was really hoping for a Revan movie, but then they tossed a perfectly good EU. Ok well I was sure they had some amazing plans and stories to tell anyways. And I sit here today indifferent to my favorite IP, disgusted with some of the things they've done. And the amazing KK did something that perhaps nobody else could have done, and destroyed SW. It actually took serious effort to get here and make things so bad. Squid Games is the only good actor on the show who puts some effort in. But his character sucks, he is some mopey old dude and that’s how they choose to represent asians? The Acolyte is objectively trash. The secret to making people like your show or movie, is not to shame the audience or nostalgia bait or pander to demographics, the secret is to write a good story with good characterization. How did that basic principle get lost?

Not going to work this time though I’m afraid. 4:27 Dave Filoni is now being credited with the witches. Something about the show failed to test well went to reshoots with Filoni. He apparently had some sort of Wiccen wife at one point and he seems to approve of the Space Witches, or it at the least their inclusion was green lit by him. So please don’t leave him out when you’re criticizing, I would hate for this to fall just on KK and not her little toadies. 8:50 Reshoots. That’s the rumor. Extensive reshoots.

I can't speak on The Acolyte cause I haven't seen it yet, but for Ahsoka I thought it was good. I mean it isn't close to as good as The Mandalorian or Obi-Wan Kenobi but it was still good. Though the best part of it was E5 with Hayden Christensen.
