The police don't consider what effects their decisions have on a person's mental health , they are determined to make people give up on shooting altogether , which is affecting small business as well as the economy in general , if the police were to react to car accidents as they do to firearms incidents there wouldn't be any cars on the road .

Iam recovering from cancer and all that goes with it, the bit of vermin hunting I now do is my sanity, whilst I was in hospital receiving Stemcell Transplant ( a month ) I was accused of misbehaviour with a firearm, the officer had an anonymous letter, which he showed me, he apologised profusely as he could see I was in trouble enough with my health! The point I make is our face to face officers are fantastic people, using common sense and courtesy always, I speak of the Ballymena and Ballymoney catchment! P.S. I have since found out who did this terrible deed!

This is a worldwide strategy by the WEF. In Canada it can take a year to renew a firearm license. Many people have become lawbreakers simply by the Government's failure to carry out their obligation to renew licences. It is not an accident that this is happening.

Really makes you grateful for the 2nd amendment in the USA. In a lot of states we can just walk in and buy a gun then walk out with after about 20 minutes for the background check. We can then load it and carry it concealed with no licenses. Constitutional carry is an amazing thing.

Really interested to see your piece on NI license issues. I moved from Dorset to NI summer 2022. I have had firearms certificate for over 30 years and Shotgun cert for even longer. Because its NI you can't do the usual change of address transfer but have to go through new license process. I kept my permission in Dorset and got a new on in Tyrone (15k acres). Submitted application in early August 2022, 11 months later I still had no news. Thankfully I am moving back Somerset due to work. Rang up Somerset firearms dept and they were great, no worries just move back and continue using existing English cert as it is still in date. If you love shooting NI is a nightmare. Otherwise it is a fabulous place.

A friend in Northern Ireland applied for their first firearms certificate last year and got theirs within 4 months. Just goes to show how messed the system is

I waited 18 months for a regrant because the civil servant processing my application didn't print off and post my FAC out to me. If this was the private sector major questions would have been asked why this happened.
