I built my own shop/house a few years ago and I totally agree with your lack of pride comments. Half of the work I subbed out was sub par at best, and I actually had a plumber ghost me after he realized he hadn't paid enough attention to the plans and I had to call him out multiple times to re rough. Trying for that quick in and out on a custom build and underbid the job. Only work I was truly satisfied with was what I did my self lol...

This building stuff is funny, I mean that in a respectful way. Let me explain, my dad moved in with me last year, of our family we are all that’s left, my dad is.. well.. a bit on the fancy side lol, he convinced me my living room needed recessed lighting, so I said ok you pay for it do what you want I’ll cover half, he hired the most useless, sloppy dummies to do the job because it was cheap, I was beyond irritated at the work they did, luckily I had a good friend that was an electrician and he came and cleaned it all up for me on the buddy system, little trade here and there. So yes sir puddin, I understand your pains of dealing with half way work and people who just want the pay out!

As a Californian I agree at least for the bottom half of the state, anything above Sacramento is really nice. I live in the town with the largest Earth filled dam in the US and this area is a great place to visit.

Things are looking good around the shop and the homestead Puddin’ really like the new awning that you’re putting in over the metal supply racks and the compressor in between the two A/C units is a better spot than behind the shop. And when you said three years were you talking about from the time you first acquired the property until now, because it sure as hell doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. It truly feels just like yesterday that you, Bill, Slick and Mortske were farting around and getting the someday Model A up and running at the old place.

It is hard to find good people you can trust to do a job correctly. I did get lucky and found a great gentleman that did a job for me tho. And come to find out he was a Ranger and was 1 of the Rangers that rescued Marcus Luttrel in 2005. Mario Reyes. Great guy. Watched a documentary about it he was interviewed on.

The transformation of the shop is the things dreams are made of and determination. To see Theo compared to what he looked like a month or two ago is remarkable considering he was abused and traumatized and you can see some of what still bothers him but now he’s one of your best friends.
