This looks like an absolute blast. Definitely going to pick one up. I’m already deep into Ego’s ecosystem and have had them honor a warranty replacement on a blower and a weed eater one of which was almost 5 years old with zero headache. It should be mentioned that I live on a mountain on a large piece of property and I’m really rough on landscape equipment, so it’s probably my fault. They’ve proven to have great customer service though and I’d have no problem dropping the money on a toy like this if it carries the same great warranty as the rest of their products.

Saw one of these pop up on Reddit a couple of weeks ago, and immediately sent it to a former co-worker, who is a lifetime rider, and has recently invested in an array of ego equipment. Neither of us knew it existed. Pretty sure he's going to add one to his collection. I inherited a house in the woods, and a low-powered sweeper wouldn't cut the mustard. I got their blower, and I'm absolutely tickled with it. Until you drop one of those batteries on your foot. By far the heaviest modular battery pack I've ever owned. Putting three of those on that bike, has got to add like 80 lb LOL

OUCH!! Yes, they are definitely heavy. EGO does a great job with their lawn and landscape tools. In fact, they're probably the reason that battery power is an option in OPE now. I find it amazing the bike is smart enough to know it can’t deliver peak amps with less that a 10ah battery or combined capacity if the packs can. E connected in parallel. Every lithium ion pack sold has a BMS, and if it’s a good BMS it will not allow the battery peak discharge to exceed rated value. Imagine if it allowed you to put 1x 2.5ah pack in and discharge at 40a (20c), that pack would either shut down in 3 seconds or suffer damage. So by saying (10ah combined capacity), to give the same peak 40a its only 4c, well within any decent li-ion pack. $1300 is a little pricy for a ebike without battery and then another $1600 for 3x 12ah batteries, $3900 for a 56v24ah+12ah ebike. Its only practical if you already in the EGO ecosystem and have lots of their batteries.

@@Shoptoolreviews, so it will run in sports mode with only 1x 10ah or 12ah battery? Its a little ambiguous if it needs 10ah or more of battery SIZE, or 10ah or more of REMAINING CHARGE. If your theory is correct that it runs on 2x batteries in parallel when in sports mode, it means it’s rather sophisticated or else will give you a notification that your two packs are not equalized and cant be placed in parallel. That 3rd battery slot, basically your reserve tank, is strange because if you drained 2x 7.5ah packs in sports mode and then replaced one dead pack with the fresh reserve pack, obviously the circuit won’t allow them to go into parallel right away. So does this situation disable sports mode or does the ebike start to slowly transfer energy from the fully charged pack into the dead pack so that it can eventually connect them in parallel? Seems like this bike with 3x 12ah packs would be great.

Solid wheels or pneumatic tires? What's the top speeds in the normal and eco modes? Will it still do 28 mph after the total available amp hour drops below 10?
@quentrussell7780Ай бұрын
They have pneumatic knobby tires that are great for off road riding, but make a slight humming noise on paved roads. It goes 15mph in eco-mode, 20mph in normal mode and 25 to 30mph in sport mode, depending on how much you weigh. With two 7.5 amp hour batteries, it will remain in sport mode until they're both completely drained. With one 7.5 amp hour battery, it will only go 15mph and sport mode can't be activated. The range is around 20 miles. I ordered two 12 amp hour batteries for it, so those figures could all change. The figures l listed apply when using the two 7.5 amp hour batteries provided with the bike. If you have other EGO tools and a charger, it's actually a better idea to buy the bike bare tool and buy two 12 amp hour batteries separately. Hope this helps

So it goes 28 mph...with a 20 mile range, so you can ride it for approx 45 minutes with a full charge, based on the weight and conditions, sorry, you're twice the weight, so knock it down to 22.5 minutes, also you're riding off road (not on the perfectly flat floor of the room we tested it in), so knock it down to 15 minutes riding time, and we exaggerated the riding time from the start so I'm guessing about 10 minutes riding before it starts running out of power...but it looks cool.

i guess it allows for 1 battery because of the 3rd stored one emergency to get back home also whats the speed in eco and normal mode

It does, but won't run on Sport.
@ThePhrozenOne9 ай бұрын
@TheDwightMamba huh? The extra battery was a comment, not a question. I watched the video I know it won't run on sport. The comment was "the reason they allow for that 3rd battery is because when the other 2 die you still need to get back home". No one's going to lug around the massive charger ego gives you. ( I own the mower) Other electric bikes chargers are not massive

I really like the Ego products. Really looks awesome but I do not like the power cable to the hub motor being run so close to the tire. Kind of a what the heck were you thinking situation there. Rocks, sticks, tire damage and more pose a real threat to the cable.

It definitely looks like a cute toy. I paid about the same for my RoadRunner Pro which does 50 mph. That said I'd still get this Ego with no battery if it was maybe $700 since I already have Ego batteries. Put around with kids.

Actually two grand is not that bad for a quality product AND two new batteries included (and I assume the charger as well, though not shown in the video). I wish I had a large piece of property to drive this thing around on. Looks like fun! Segway makes an electric go-cart which is around that same price.

Interesting, but I would really be concerned about how exposed that orange power line is. Even on gravel roads, rocks are going to be flying up chipping away, not to mention actual dirt. How does it handle water, mud, snow and the moisture?

My dad ordered it and should get it soon. Anyone knows a good lightweight hitch carrier for it ? Otherwise might need to make a custom one for it. Moreover, how to clean it once done some off-road without using pressure wash/water hose since it's only IPX4 rating ?.

Yes, the 12Ah battery will fit with no problem. You can run a 12 and a 5 or any other size EGO batteries. Thanks for watching.

Judging just from what I see on the video it looks like a very high-quality, well thought out product. If I were in the Ego platform I'd definitely consider getting one. What I've really been wanting for a long time is something that more resembles a go-cart. I am constantly cleaning up yard debris so I have to bend over dozens of times every time I clean the yard. I've been wanting something that I can sit on that is low to the ground with a basket(s) that can be mounted on the front, or the back, or either side of the cart, that way I can sit down and not have to bend to reach things on the ground. I don't need speed so probably any 40V or higher system would work - even two 18/20V batteries would work. Seems like something that Makita or Ryobi would come out with since they are known for their eclectic tool lines.

@@dizzlethe7346 Yes but it's too high off of the ground for my needs, I want something that hugs the ground so that I can stick my arm out and pick up items without having to bend way over which is what I'm doing now. I have a lot of trees and it's a constant struggle trying to keep up with the mess. I had thought of building my own cart but I just don't have the time.

I have several EGO products, and I would really like this. It looks very small however. Im 5’10 230…. Anybody have any thoughts?
@quentrussell7780Ай бұрын
Im 6'3 240 and I can still ride it. It's a bit small, but it's super fun to ride! It tops out at 26mph with me on it, but that's with two 7.5 amp hour batteries. I ordered two 12 amp hour batteries, so Hopefully they'll make it a little faster. My Daughter weighs 140 and it goes 30mph with her on it.
