Both "Lorenzo" and "Little Match Girl" were intended for the world music-based third "Fantasia" film. Other shorts that were made for it were "One by One" (which shows up on "Lion King" releases) and "Destino", the belated realization of a Salvador Dali-Walt Disney concept from the 1940s. Where are those on this disc?

Ffffffffffff, it's a chameleon not a gecko. Also, you clearly haven't watched or read "Marley & Me." John and Jenny get Marley after they have been married for a few years, and the story is a slice of life take on how this dog influenced their lives and relationship as they go through life. It's one of my favourite books.
@Wawagirl17
@Wawagirl17 4 жыл бұрын
I haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie, and that was my thought too. There's plenty of stories about a dog+male owner relationship changing once a girlfriend/wife comes into the picture, but "Marley & Me" isn't it, since as you said, they don't get the dog until after they're married. It's much more of a "family and their dog" story.

@@Wawagirl17 I actually haven't seen many home wrecking boy and dog stories, but I feel like I know the trope by heart... "Hercules" is the only one that pops to mind. There are plenty of ones where the kids don't want the parent to remarry, "Nanny McPhee" and "My Girl" being examples.

There was indeed supposed to be a third Fantasia centered around world music. Dillon Ohlemiller Agreed. But I remember, Disney animation was in a very tough time at that point. The dark era of Home on the Range and all of those Disney sequels. 😆 That was when they closed their Florida animation studio and it looks like 2D animation was about to die off entirely. They have managed to find their ground with both 2D and 3D in the past few years though. I think if they wanted to do a third Fantasia now with all this new experimental animation, it could work.

Get a Horse! was shown in front of Frozen and that was a PACKED theater, FULL of adults, and the adults, the ADULTS were cracking up way more than the kids were. The kids were giggling sure but the adults were having a blast. It's funny-I know so many people who have that mindset of "oh Disney is just for kids, animation is just for kids" but shorts like these, they should remind people that no. They're for everyone. After all, as Walt himself said, you're dead if you aim just for kids. Adults are only kids grown up anyways.

The little match-girl is based on a H. C. Andersen-story (same dude who wrote the original Little Mermaid)

You missed the Marvel reference in Get a Horse. One of the characters is wearing a shirt with Captain America's Shield on it.

I love the behind-the senses stuff before each of the shorts. It lets you know what the thoughts and ideas of the creators were.

I really enjoy these shorts, but i have to be honest, besides the Goofy and Get A Horse one, I like the ones that don't have "Disney" characters in them. I like seeing creators make these different shorts, with differing styles and stories, and different characters :)

Okay, this isn’t even funny anymore. If you love the cynical humor of the Goofy shorts, you gotta see the New Mickey Shorts. They’re such a fresh, looser, wilder take on the Mickey gang, with animation way more reminiscent of Looney Tunes or Ren & Stimpy than anything. You HAVE GOT TO CHECK THEM OUT. Please!

Pixar also had some shorts that were exclusively DVD bonus features, like Mike's New Car and Jack-Jack Attack.

I'm still waiting for a full length, animated film from Disney that uses the animation style from Paperman. Hopefully other movies like Spiderverse and Klaus will bring more interest to the 2D/3D hybrid animation.

Why does every single review now have to tie back to Into the Spider-Verse in some way? It's not a good film. The only reason people gave a shit was because, like Black Panther, it had a black lead. And Miles Morales is just a black Peter Parker. Without the likeability.

I got triggered when he called pascal a gecko when he's very obviously a chameleon. Literally the only thing chameleons' are known for is changing colour. How do you get that wrong?

Disney is one of the biggest reasons why I love, respect, and appreciate animation!!! Just literally watching different kinds of styles of animation ( traditional hand drawing, 3D/ 2D, and so much more) showing how they can tell a story, how they can bring a variety of characters to life and showing the worlds that they present, is amazing!!! I watched all of these shorts and they never fail to impress and inspire me! I'll continue being an animation and Disney Buff for my rest of my life 😭😭❤️❤️😍😍👏👏

Awwww I thought he’d include the SparkShorts. Kitbull was BEAUTIFUL as somebody who just adores bully breeds and grew up around them, seeing Disney so beautifully display how these dogs TRULY are was deeply touching for me. Went and hugged my staffie and cried for a good while after finishing that one.

off topic, but I think they forgot to add Destino (2003) and Glago's Guest (2008) in This Blu-Ray/DVD. the collection of shorts were from 2000 to 2015, yet the shorts (and years) i've mentioned aren't. is there a reason why they didn't include them?

John Henry is not just a short, it’s one of 4 shorts of the Tall Tales VHS I had as a kid. 1. John Henry 2. Johnny Appleseed. 3. Paul Bunion 4 Casey Jones (aka The Brave Engineer) Stories told by Mufasa and Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones. *thumbs up if you remember Disney Tall Tales*
