@6:11 they have the plastic screw to hold the under Cover once you take all the bolts and clips out. It’s very useful when installing the under Cover. You just push that onto the stud. It centres and holds the undercover from dropping when you are installing the bolts. Pretty useful and makes lives so much easier.

The buttons on the seat to move them could be convenient for a rear seat passenger, but they are more for the driver so they can move the passenger seat without getting out or laying over the console to reach them on the side on the passenger seat.

V6 is the way to go, you have to go to the top trim to get a good interior (quilted napa leather)and headliner, this is a base model 4-cylinder. The instrument cluster is digital on the right for the blind spot camera left and right. Have a 2023 V6 g70 with every option didn't feel dated at all beside no wireless phone projection. The overhead camera is like 4k. Lexus feels dated. Top trim g70 has a better interior than bmw or Acura. And the best tech, radar. On a side note I don't like the climate control and heated cooled seat, heated steering wheel control being digital. Glad I got the buttons, I'm scared of too many screens. Knobs and buttons last.

There is a reason why Hyundai/Kia and now Genesis are world's #3 automaker. You get a LOT for your money, and now add reliability, quality material, appealing design, and attention to details in the equation, it's a great recipe for success. I bet most people never thought these brands would be sitting at #3, above any Detroit brand, Honda and Nissan in 2024.

Hello! I watch your videos! I think you have one of the best car review channels in KZbin! My only recommendation will be, please fix the audio! When you are talking the audio is really low so I have to increase the volume to hear you, but the issue is when the commercials start of course it’s super loud. If you are watching at night when every one is sleeping, the worst. I think fixing this issue will increase the people watching your videos! Respectfully and thank you for what you do!

I bought the G80 for an extreme discount. A Certified used. Car is a dream and due to the huge depreciation I got a bargain. I recommend the G80 with the V6 and the 8 speed. You will pay very little for a Certified Used one and enjoy all the benefits. It is rock solid reliable, dependable , cheap on gas ,and after 70K nothing goes wrong. Not even carbon fouling. Skip the high strung BMWs Mercedes, and Audis and get the G80.

Need to do a review on the 3.3 liter. All of the Hyundai 4cly engines are known to have issues. But the 3liter engines which are exclusive to the Genesis lineup are pretty rock solid. Also, the interior on this model and trim you reviewed is crap. You need to review the 3.3t sport prestige trim. The interior on that one puts to shame anything in it's segment and even above it. The interior on the 3.3t sport prestige is nicer than most cars above it's segment.

Of course! Although the 2.0T manual (when that was available) weighed nearly 660lbs/300kg more than the equivalent front wheel drive 2.0T manual Elantra N. That's not strictly because of RWD v FWD of course, a lot of that is due to this being a luxury car and also being quite overbuilt with a lot of parts (apparently) the same as the V6T model.

@@LegendsPizzaCo You mean the ILX (Integra) Type S 2.0T manual compared to the Genesis G70 2.0T manual sport when that was available? As with the Elantra N, because of the front wheel drive (and not being a luxury car, obviously it's a just a Civic Type R with leather seats!), the Integra is 600 lbs lighter. While RWD is a more classical balance, weight also matters in fun-to-drive factor -- so it's a matter of compromises. Even Hyundai enthusiasts might say the Elantra N is more fun to drive than the G70 despite driving the wrong wheels, it depends what you want. As for the V6 twin-turbo, the G70 is only 130lbs/60kg lighter than the KIA Stinger 3.3T which is a mid-size 5m long car that competes with the 5 Series and Chevrolet SS and so on. Does the G70 *really* drive like a much smaller, lighter car, despite having most of the same mechanicals and weight of the larger models? 🤔

I liked the pre-facelift version's looks better. The turbocharged v6 was really peppy and fun to drive though. It is kind of odd to me that Genesis never made a higher performance version of the car.

Same! People used to dump on that first look as being too generic or too derivative of BMW. But I thought the whole look inside and out was more cohesive and mature than the current version. Front end reminds me of an insect now. If Genesis does an update and offers a Magma version, they’ll have something.

True, it's aging but still a decade ahead of the Lexus IS interior and you seemed to like that interior.. Would be good to see a review of the top trim 3.3T.. everything is better and I think your impression would change. Keep in mind all of the cars in the class have a 4cyl version.. and this one is the most powerful. In fact almost as much hp as an IS350 and more torque. If you compare the G70 3.3T Sport Prestige to all of the Germans it's much less money. Still a very solid car and great buy.

16:45 I have the same controls in my Tucson and believe me I use them quite often to move the front seat to allow more space at the back on some occasions. Reaching out to the bottom seat controls while seating on the driver's seat would not be nice.

In the beginning, Genesis used ZF's 8 speed transmission. Then a year or two later, the transmission was made by Hyundai Powertech. It looks very similar to ZF's 8 speed. Whether the home grown version is a licensed copy of ZF's is not known.

You're fairly right on point, I had a G80 Ultimate and everything on that car was of quality, after a terrible year with Land Rover, I went for g70, and as a luxury brand, they failed on many things, I ended wrapping carbon Vinyl all the plastic on center console, feels much better, my 24 accord has super nice digital cluster, this one is so basic, not many options, this is very old tech, screen is still small and very basic, climate control is ok, I like the suspension and handling, brakes are turned to super soft, don't feel like you're running Brembo, it's a 50/50 love hate relationship, I enjoy the looks, especially in nice color, seats are great but with it's short comings, not sure if a still trying to establish them selves luxury brand putting out a cheapo as g70, I bought it so I'll keep it but I wish I did not, Gv70 is amazing, so is g80 and up, wtf genesis?

The transmission looks like the ZF 8 speed used by many manufacturers... it's the same one used in my 2020 X3. It's a superb transmission that's very responsive and reliable. As always, great review!

Please explain how Hyundai exhausts are inferior. I've had three Sonatas with close to 300 Km each. One of the cars was 9 years old when we traded it. We never had to replace any major parts of either of the exhausts. I recall replacing flex pipes on the 2007 and on the 2011. In fact, I never had to anything more than maintenance on any of the Hyundais I've owned.

I would definetly consider changing a flex pipe to be major exhaust work along with exhaust manifold work and gaskets change/removal/repair or putting on aftermarket headers or mufflers, minor work is like tightening a clamp, putting tubing back in a hanger that slipped out, spot welding an exhaust leak etc etc. Confusing statement aside that's not a bad record though if thats all the trouble you had either way. you never had to do 02 sensors in a 300k km Sonata?

There are a few features/tech options that are only available with the 3.3. HUD, LSD, Nappa seats, alcantera headliner, 360°cams , power trunk, electronic suspension. So getting the 2.5 handicaps the car both in performance and features

I noticed when you were underneath the car the transmission is an A8LR1. This 8 speed has been around at least since 2013. I had one in my 2013 Hyundai Genesis coupe. In the 2010 to 2012 Genesis coupe they had the German ZedF 6-speed transmission. I think Hyundai try to copy the German transmission into their own design. Also my Genesis coupe has the same suspension setup with the dual lower control arms and the Brembos

Maybe should have done a bit more "resesrch". The G70 started only 5 years ago with a cosmetic and engine update 2 years ago. To state repeatedly the car is dated would apply to the vast majority of new cars. Car & Driver just gave the 2025 model 8.5 out of 10.

I have the hyundai santa fe hybrid, I looked at genesis and their line is not very innovative !! Their bigger versions look like the old hyundai veracruz which I owned in 2007. I wish they would update their whole line up, and make some hybrids and a 6 or 7 passenger like the size of the palisade.

Hyundai use to make decent products in the early to mid 2000 years. They have really fell off the cliff. I've owned a 2003 Hyundai Accent and when I sold it, it had over 210,000 miles on it. The only issue was the transmission. I had it replaced at 103,000 miles. Other than that it ran well and never gave me any issues.

My issue occurs on my home theater sound system. I just noticed that on your videos on my home system, KZbin app says your audio is 5.1 surround. I found a setting on the video to disable 5.1, and the audio volume shot up. I don’t see this option in anybody else’s videos. So that makes me think you are uploading in 5.1 format. Edit: Confirmed that you are uploading in 5.1.. Downloaded the video using yt-dlp, and it shows 6 channel audio. FR, Center, FL, SUB, Surround Left, Surround Right
