Thanks for the comprehensive video! A lot of aspects you covered in this video are the reason i dont buy preassembled whoops anymore, if you buy all the parts yourself you can choose the best for your application. For example, i prefer smaller whoops, but i strongly agree that 1.5mm motor shafts are very important for any whoop over the 65mm size. I have built a meteor 75 Air frame with some old 20kkv hm 0802s from the mobula 7, and it flies amazing! It only weighs 22g, and is so efficient that i use the same 300mah batteries i use on my 65s. In my mind, if you want to go to 45mm prop, you should consider chosing a frame like the sub 250g turtle, since the size is already a little to big for indoor flying, and you gain a lot of speed and agility by losing the prop guards. But that is just my personal opinion.
@butterflyfpv3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! I am of your opinion. I almost only build whoops myself. But when I need a new board I sometimes buy a BNF whoop and use it until the frame breaks. And then I switch to my components. Because it seems to me that boards in BNF whoops are more often good than the boards you buy individually. Sometimes there are boards that are defective... Yes, open props definitely have more performance, but unfortunately also less durability than whoops..

Hey! I'm looking forward to buy my first fpv drone. I decided to go with a tinywhoop, a radiomaster pocket, and the eachine ev800. What drone would you recommend? Meteor 65 or 75 series? And if it'll be compatible with the goggles and the rc what i listed. I would really appreciate your response. And thanks for the video, now i think that I won't buy the air series because they aren't that durable 😂
@butterflyfpvАй бұрын
Cool that you chose tiny whoops! That was a good choice.. this way you can fly more.. In the meantime I also managed to bend the motor shafts on my 75 Pro. However, it took over half a year of flying almost every day. I would still choose the 75 Pro. But if, for example, all of your FPV friends fly the 75air then it would be worth buying the 75air because you can then exchange spare parts with each other. You can then help each other out. That's nothing to sneeze at either. Honestly, you can't go wrong with all those whoops. Because sooner or later you have to repair them all. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes shorter. Basically, it's part of the hobby that you learn to repair and to solder..

Hello. Thank you for the feedback! 1. Ok. 2. Not good. I don`t like them (range and ergonomics). Here I would recommend you to buy better googles. And preferably a professional one (500-800 dollars). And otherwise at least better beginner googles. The Eachine EV800D is supposed to be ok. But take a look at a few reviews on KZbin. 3. Both ok (75 Pro if you plan to fly more outdoors) 4. The vifly whoop stor 3 v3 6 ports 1s lipo charger is a better option here because of the storage charge/discharge function (You always have to bring your lipos up to voltage if you don't need them for more than three days) 5. Good Lipos! Lava 1S 550mah is good for 75 Pro (450mah for better power to weight ratio). Lava 1S 450mah is good for Air75. Hope this helps! Happy flying! Great video fam! I was actually just thinking about the air75 and 75pro awhile ago since I honestly really love the 75pro and I hope the air75 lives up to at least what its meant to be XD. 75 is honestly a weird gray zone since we have 65 that is really convenient for indoors and 85 for outdoors. I agree with all your statements though I think, after some time like the 75 pro, tunes and mods can be made for the air75 as well. Will it be as good as the mods for the 75pro? only time will tell ;). I also tell people triblade on a 75 is really nice especially for indoors but most people just tell me biblades is the way to go - something I actually hated on the hachidorii v2. I also do think that overall, the 75 pro has a better position in the whoop world since its overall construction and performance is exceptional - its also not trying to be a 65 that needs to be extremely lightweight But I will say that, if the air75 actually performs really good and beyond our expectations, that's going to be a very compelling argument to get it XD Love the content as always fam!
@butterflyfpv3 ай бұрын
Thank you my whoop engineer friend! 😀Exactly! Yes thats true with the gray zone for 75mm class. For me the 75mm size class is the best allround class. 80mm and bigger more for outdoor. And 65mm for indoor only. In my opinion. And I like tri blade props too on all my whoops. Bi-blade props only for crazy lightweight builds (sub 15.5g 65mm, sub 20g 75mm). Honestly, I don't think the Air75 flies any better than we expect. It certainly flies well like the 75 Pro. But I personally wouldn't buy it because I want motors with more kv. At least 25000kv on 75mm whoops. That's why I prefer to build a whoop myself out of parts. But as I said and as you also say: Both whoops are certainly among the best BNFs on the market...
@im_ricebowl3 ай бұрын
@@butterflyfpv Agreed on the biblades. I think we both like the yaw authority that triblade gives XD. Not gonna lie, im really mostly just looking forward to the new aio XD. the diamond F4 is slowly running out where I live and im hesitant to get the superx. Hope we both get to try the air75 tho soon! would love to see how it performs especially up against our custom builds.

Can u share ur thoughts on 65mm vs 75mm? Just got the Air65 for fun. Thinking of having a 75mm in the near future too.
@butterflyfpv3 ай бұрын
Yes thats easy. 65mm is more agile and 75mm more flighttime but less agile. And maybe you need a little bit throttle expo / throttle mid or throttle cut scale for the 75mm for more easy throttle control indoors.. Both are good whoops for indoor! But if you are ok with the flighttime of your 65mm then you don`t need the 75mm.. In some situations with some flight styles the flighttime is almost the same. And the durability is also about the same. Maybe the 65mm is a litte bit more durable (especially the canopy because of the lower all up weight of the 65mm)

@butterflyfpv3 ай бұрын
@@junkthe It`s hard for me to understand what you mean. Maybe I can help you with my experiences with pushers. And no, there is no 75mm lightweight pusher frame on the market right now. You can buy an emax tiny hawk 2 or 3. But it`s heavy. But it is Pusher and it is 1-2S! Advantages and disadvantages of a pusher configuration in short (Updated 11.1.24): Advantages: - Nice "side grip" flight feeling - Good throttle control (at least a different throttle feeling and lower hover point) - The Throttle is tamed (maybe helpful on a 2S whoop) - Less or no Prop/Duct in view Disadvantages: - Lower efficiency (lower flight times) up to 25% less efficient and sometimes higher! (depends on frame/strut/duct design and weight of the build, lower weight is better) - Less thrust - Less topspeed - More noise - Difficult to implement in normal whoop frames - Needs some pid tuning (?) - Needs a frame with few and thin struts (happymodel V4 frame) - Often higher weight of the build compared to puller configuration (doesn't have to be but can) - Starting the whoop is sometimes not possible for example outdoors on gravel or in the grass - Greater risk of ESC burnout (when starting the drone) - Poorer cooling. Higher temperature of the flight controller (approx. 75 degrees Celsius). In my case with 25mw vtx transmission power there were no problems. But higher transmission powers could lead to maybe to much heat Possible uses for the pusher configuration: - Lightweight 1S whoop build for very narrow and technical indoor tracks with very small gates - Lightweight 2S whoop (pusher configuration to tame the throttle a bit)

Good morning ButterflyFPV, thanks for the tip!🤗 I was actually thinking about the 1002 _ 23500KV yesterday instead of the 1102 from Betafpv. The frame I have in mind is the Fractal 75 - Frame Kit I’m sure you know that frame, it’s the carbon frame where you mount the whoops (Mob 7 V4 frame). I’m just a bit unsure about how to mount the separate VTX.🫡 I really enjoy building and soldering, which is why I want to convert this 75pro.

@@KevFPV Oh another tipp: Rcinpower 1002 22000kv do have more power than the robo 1002 23.5k (somehow). Rcinpower 1002 22k motors are the most powerful motors on the market. Powerful but still efficient! Thats a rare combo in the motor world! Yes the fractal frames are nice! I mount each of my separate VTXs with a thin double-sided adhesive tape. And then two drops of uhu poor glue (or other contact glue). However, this only works if you only fly with 25mw vtx power. Otherwise the glue on the vtx will burn..
