Dude the O2 ring is super important it tells me exactly what's going on. It's an absolute must and I have always wanted a pulse oximeter that records all night and I have one now. It's like having a sleep study done every night practically for free. How on Earth can you say it's not needed. It is so extremely helpful it's just what I needed. Can't believe you don't agree.

Wellue O2 ring pushed me to get CPAP. After a at home sleep study where I got and ahi of 52 I wanted to see what my sleep was like in terms of O2 saturation. I had multiple dips into the 70s every night. Using it with CPAP I see maybe 1 or 2 dips below 95. If you are on the edge get the ring. I used fsa money as well.

02 ring - GOOD. No 02 ring - BAD. I have used one for two years and load the data into OSCAR. The way I see it - yes, of course the breathing waveforms are key, but the whole point to CPAP is that you remain well oxygenated. Why not follow the actual end result? Plus, it also shows heart rate, which tells you a lot about your reactions to your breathing, 02, state of mind, etc., plus a movement sensor - all good data if you really want to understand what you are doing while asleep. (After all, if it is not important data, why follow it in a full sleep study?) As a bonus, it has an adjustable vibrating 02 alert for piece of mind, if desired. Sure, if you have perfect sleep on CPAP, super low (below 1) AHI, wake up feeling like a million bucks every day, maybe more info is unhelpful, but to me, data is a good thing (I also follow sleep stages with Fitbit Ultra and yes, well aware that it is not as accurate as an EEG, but does a decent job on direct comparison testing and matches up quite well with breathing patterns and heart rate seen in the stages). Last note - uploading the pulse/ox data into OSCAR is really easy once set up, just keep in mind that even with the 02 device computer-synched, the data may be off timing-wise by +/- 1 min. with the CPAP machine data. Wish there was a C02 sensor.....

I have found the ring to be very helpful. It was how I identified I had sleep apnea to begin with and the data it gives correlates well to how I feel in the daytime. I find the resmed scoring a pain in the butt and not helpful at all so I just go by how my 02 sats are while sleeping. Initially I used the ring every night to figure out the best mask and positioning, pressure settings, how meds effected my 02 and other variables that would effect my sleep. After I became stable, I stopped wearing it nightly and just check now and then if I feel my status is changing...like if I am more tired than usually or feeling brain fog or other of my prior symptoms start reappearing.
@marciagrahn982
@marciagrahn982 Жыл бұрын
I find it useful too, I've been through 4 masks, the 5th is finally keeping my oxygen from dropping to 85 every night, I hope to get stabilized like you did Candace and then use it less often, but for now I feel I am much farther along in just 6 or so weeks of cpap therapy because of the ring. Also the Resmed app is totally useless in helping control apnea.

There is another use I make of the O2 ring. I cap my BiPAP inhalation pressure at about 13. That's because if it goes much higher I get really bad aerophagia that's extremely uncomfortable. I don't really need that pressure unless I get on to my back and then I would be very uncomfortable the next morning. By wearing the O2 ring, it vibrates and wakes me when my O2 gets low and that only happens if I get on my back with a long string of OAs. I'd rather be awake and roll over then suffer with aerophagia.

Totally agree that very, very few people NEED it. However, I have found it helpful. I bought it while waiting insanely long for my CPAP machine. I was able to use it both before and after therapy started. I did see a difference in the number of desaturations which helped me through the difficult adaptation period. I doubt it is accurate, but I think it's okay for overall trends.
@wilkinru

It seems pretty darn accurate to me. I had the exact same experience and when I didn't have a cpap yet I learned sleeping on my right side was best for me. That got me through a few awkward months.
@nmg5100

It's totally accurate. How could it not be. If you wear it while you're awake the oxygen is steady and in the green. When you fall asleep the oxygen drops goes into the orange and you can see exactly how low your oxygen goes.

The O2 ring has been somewhat helpful to me because my machine (Luna II) doesn’t give data that I can analyze and my doctor doesn’t really care about breath-by-breath analysis. At least with the ring, I can see that I didn’t have any big drops. Without the PAP, my O2 sat is pretty scary.

Rumor has it that intermittent/inconsistent rewards tend to be effective/addictive. Maybe you could go with a Schrödinger's cat variation: You flip a coin each time to determine whether or not Stewie is in that day's video. Until a viewer observe$ the video, it remains simultaneously a cat video and not a cat video. This reinforces viewership, comments, and gives your ego a day to heal 50% of the time.

Yes I have the O2 Ring. I wanted the Aura Ring but cost and monthly fee were a non starter so got one. As I wait on my APAP to arrive I've used it during the day and at night. I definitely see the differences. Once I get my unit I'll continue my self study to see where I'm at and how improve. On a side note as much as I hate crowd funded projects I did find one for an Aura clone ring and decided to take the gamble. If it pans out I'll be able to capture 7 days worth of data before a charge is needed and the app is free.

I find my O2 ring very useful. It helped me to recognize that my nightly plms are reduced substantially by giving up coffee. Not just caffeinated but also decaffeinated. Apparently there are components in coffee that can cause issues. I switched to tea and the movement data from my ring has confirmed that my plms have been greatly reduced (they clearly registering when I wore it on my thumb). Some people would only have substantial PLM movement in their ankles legs, so the ring wouldn't help them identify the PLM. I did actually try wearing the ring on my big toe to register movement there. The problem I had was that it was tight and I woke with a good bit of pain in the night. It's too small to fit my big toe and too large to work on other toes. I would like for someone to make a device to register just movement that I could import into Oscar. That way I could wear it wherever I felt the plms were occurring. My sleep study indicated I had plms primarily in REM. I can finally remember dreams now!

What about the Wellue O2Ring's tracking of movement? I am still trying to learn to interpret Oscar data. I think I can see when I have an arousal versus an actual apnea event. But what do I know? The answer is nothing- I am new to this and my doctors are zero help.

I had to pause the video as soon as the Parkster said they were communicating with healthcare professionals. PARKER! NO! ...okay yes, talk to them too, but anyone who's spent any length of time on this channel knows how much we as patients freaking HATE that doctors and CPAP companies try to gatekeep what we're allowed and not allowed to see! I'll fully agree that I don't know as much as someone who went to school for this, but that doesn't mean I'm a total dummy who'd just rather stay in the dark about it. It’s crazy that they’re collaborating with providers who see far less people than you do. People i.e. customers. We’re the ones who’re using the equipment and not providers. That’s a huge problem. Providers and manufacturers should be doing more collaborative research with users to see what we want. People aren’t going to go to the doctor and pay for a visit to get more data. That kind of approach for this vendor only benefits the provider. Working with you would benefit them, providers, and customers who would flock to seek out providers to get the product.

I bought the o2 ring and wore it for a night without CPAP, and DAMN did my oxygen plummet. I mean, I knew from sleep studies that I had severe sleep apnea, but seeing that data in black and white -that was enough to scare me into tweaking whatever I could to get good, consistent CPAP usage. It also helped me figure out which sleeping positions had higher oxygen (with me and my giant bewbs, side and stomach were best). And I got better results while wearing a cervical collar. Once I had all that dialed in and was getting good sleep, I didn't really wear it much so I returned it.

I have tongue-related EFL's that might be helped by the iNAP... it is expensive, both to buy (1200USD) and for the consumables (you mentioned $500/yr). There is no reason (using a nasal mask) that the two therapies could not be combined, right? When my muscle tone goes away during REM or whatever, my tongue drops back (I'm on my side btw) and I get slapper EFL events... higher pressure just seems to make them worse. If I could keep my tongue firmly on the roof of my mouth these would go away I think... even thought about a dumbbell piercing to hang outside my teeth! Probably time for a drug induced endoscopy, right?

False readings GALORE! I bought this ring and I can easily make the O2 reading drop 5-10% at will. When I first bought it I was aghast at my overnight blood oximetry..but then I realized by accident that I could run my arm up under my pillow and slightly cut off the circulation to the arm with the ring on it and it would calculate a much lower blood oximetry. About the only place to properly take blood oximetry while sleeping is either the earlobe (which will interfere with sleeping via it rubbing on your pillow) or possibly try putting this ring on your toe. I tried reading oximetry off my toe and got very even readings throughout the night. < 1% drops in O2..compared to the 8% drops on my fingers. Don't buy this unless you want a very expensive O2 meter.

I purchased the o2 ring and it was horrible. Heart rate stuff seemed accurate but o2 was crap. Didn’t matter what finger it was on. Pure junk. After seeing the numbers and spending an afternoon in the docs office, realized maybe I should check with a regular o2 device- the ones that actually fit on your tip of finger. Got one, gerryrigged to keep on at night and 02 is fine. I get these ppl put disclaimers on their product etc, but for the price_ pure trash. Like your channel and your reviews, but my experience has been quite a bit different. And I agree, I don’t think everyone needs. For me, I’m post afib ablation and only risk factor I had was maybe a mild case of sleep apnea. Really think it was genetic, but tried to zero in on whatever may have been the issue.

@@willied5305 if you wear the o2 ring on a cold hand it might partially register vasoconstrictions as false dips in blood oxygen of a triangular or rectangular shape rather than the normal slower-down fast-up curve. I guess you'd need to run a 2nd ring on a warm hand and subtract actual desaturations. Movement can mess it up too, on a cold finger.

I'm an OSCAR beta tester and my husband is a coder; I have the iBreeze 20A and am thinking about getting the 30STA. I don't think the 30STA is supported yet but would love to see if we can integrate it. The integration with the 20A is working well, some bugs will be fixed in next release. "Well I am the fastest growing Cat Channel on KZbin. What's that worth to you." hahahahahahahahaha. Could you ask them why Furbulous looks like a CPAP machine? Can you clean it using ozone?

I'm happily surprised they're moving in the direction of a breath-by-breath data feature for the INAP. It suggests they feel the device is sufficiently effective to warrant such a significant new add-on. I still like my idea of allowing CPAP machines to also do this diagnostic as an added feature, since it would appear that CPAP machines already have 95+% of this capability... The O2 ring: "I will definitely put a link for it in the description box below"... ??? Yes, a sleep-tech channel moonlighting as a cat channel - it detracts from the sleep-tech content...and also weakens the "professionalism". I'm also sending you over my 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆-𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆-𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕. I'm the fastest growing KZbin Stalker Side-kick Service! Halloween is coming up... Jason... just saying!

😂 Breath by breath will make it a Type 3 home sleep study. CPAP machines doing it would just be a matter of getting a cannula to plug into the already existing pneumotach/pressure transducer without the PAP blowing air. "Professionalism" 😂
