Our Elphie is a rescue beagle and she is the best dog a family could have. She even loves the family cat. In the evening she loves to curl up on the couch between my wife and me while we watch TV. The only thing she attacks are snacks! 😂 food is not safe around our Beagle baby. We got her from the SPCA when she was 9 weeks old. We have had her for 2 years now. She loves fetch, tug of war, car rides, and pup cups doggie ice cream. We can't imagine life without her.

Our Biscuit was a stray. Showed up at our house 5 years ago. Skinny and full of ticks. We all fell in love. He is the best dog we've ever had. Can't imagine loving a dog more.

Show beagles may have to have specific physical looks, but I think every beagle is a pet beagle. Lucky was DEFINITELY both a hunting and a pet beagle. He would howl with the best of them and tear off at the drop of a hat to a rabbit, squirrel or any other similar animal. But he loved his belly rubs and he would insist on my playing with him instead of doing a sudoku puzzle when it was playtime.

I have a hunting beagle/pet who has been trained to track wounded deer as well as kids playing hide and seek from him at the campground. Second beagle is more pet but loves to sniff and cuddle

My beagle, a four year old named Dixie, is clearly from a hunting line of Beagles. She wants to chase every small animal and most big ones. She points on Rabbits, squirrels and pheasants. She is also incredibly friendly and loves being the center of attention. She will let you comb her hair for hours, as long as there is not a furry tailed squirrel nearby.

My fiancé and I have a 5 year old Beagle named French Fry. Hes not a show Beagle or Hunting Beagle but he is the best pet Beagle one can ask for! He's full of humor and love for everyone but especially mommy and daddy. ^_^

I bought a hunting Beagle from a rabbit hunting breeder and changed her into a pet beagle. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met.

Me too! My dog's breeder felt she was too small and "dainty" to sell as a hunting dog, but she's ideal for me. She's fun and athletic and loves the farm and the woods, but, at the ends of the day, she's still a pampered pet.

I have a loving Beagle to our family. She shows us how much she loves us every day. She doesn't hunt except for the dog biscuits she hides inside our house. We don't want to let her be a show dog she probably wouldn't place anywhere in the showing. But I would not trade my little Daisy for anything. ❤❤

Frank the Wonder Beagle is a house Beagle. Means he's lazy and demands treats 24/7. Frank couldn't hunt to save his life. He's great at training humans to give him treats.

Yeah my Groot likes to track scents too. He doesn't howl, he just starts pulling a lot when he finds a scent he really likes.

Our female beagle(10months) is literally ripping up everything,biting,through electrical appliance leads,holes in the garden,,then currently having issues with her toileting.we take her out and doesn't do no poos,and lucky if she does one wee.but once home ,she then does her toileting..

When she pees in the house, use a pee pad to clean it and then place that pee pad outside where you want her to pee. Take her to that spot and let her sniff it. She will likely pee on it, but if she doesn't, take her for a walk around the block and return to the same area again. This will help her understand where she's supposed to go. To help her with pooping, notice when she usually poops, it will be mostly after she eats her food. Try taking her out at that very time.

I respectfully disagree to the statement that hunting Beagles' vocalizations are different: Show lines have the exact same loud bay, as well as the high-pitched shrieking/jodel sounds (very loud and ear-piercing) when they chase game, or another dog in vigorous play sessions outdoors. Also, some show line puppies are sold to hunters due to their extremely high drive and energy. According to my Beagles' breeder, almost every litter has at least one puppy that's sold as a hunting Beagle for that reason. Mine are both showline Beagles and make excellent pets. Thanks for all the work you do featuring my favorite breed!

Mine one is all of them, well it's up to his mood when he want he bites anyone even if we say not to do he will do. He listens only my father. And if he barks and some one gets scared and my father is also not there so he attacks baddly. And he is very playful in every morning he wakes us up at 4-5 am in the morning. And then takes anything of ours and runs all around the house. Then he gets sleepy in the afternoon but if someone comes in afternoon so he barks as if course he will

No, you cannot give them popsicles that we have. You will have to make one at your home using dog friendly ingredients.
