That revolver is modeled after the same one crosman makes so, through the whole video he doesn't have the safety actually on. For that model you need to pull the hammer back in order for the safety to work, otherwise with it pushed against the hammer, it will still shoot with the safety "on".

Fun lil fly killer. Bummed out it’s not meant to be reloadable (unless you have patience to get a thin sticky paper to cover the holes) and was also hoping it would have “bullets” like some air soft guns instead of the disk. Either way it’s cool
@justanotheravgjoe1314
@justanotheravgjoe1314 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that is really the issue. Cartridges are expensive (but I guess that is relative. to me they are expensive.) but then what is your time worth? I reload ammo which is a tedious task, but I find it somewhat meditative and relaxing, but reloading these I always find to be tedious. I have an idea of what you were thinking with the air soft type bullet, but I think even though it is a revolver/handgun, it is still a shotgun for flies.

@@whipit24 That may work, definitely better than Post it paper. The paper tape used on the shred-er cartridge is an extremely thin (almost see through) tape or seal. 🤣🤯🤔. Absolutely (disclaimer, not really.), it could possibly be used to distract the intruder/assailaint. As they are rolling around on the ground laughing at the fact that you tried to stop them with a clown gun, 1. you can either flee as fast as you can, 2. seek a real weapon or 3. when the laughing ceases let them take or do as they will. In the case of a person actually choosing to use the Shred-Er for home defense, I am guessing that option 3 might be chosen. I don't think the laughing their A**es off will incapacitate them long enough for the police to arrive. Thank you, I always enjoy these fun comments. Makes the brain go in fun ways. The 3.0 is great, I use it for my indoor bug shooter, the Shredder is too strong to be shooting at flies on screens or finished surfaces. Outdoors, if you are only shooting flies or black widows you should be fine with the 3.0. If you have any of the more difficult critters like the yellow jackets, roaches etc. (Yellow Jackets are a bit sketchy with the 3.0, if you nail the wings you can take them out of the air and finish with a boot, but if you don't they get kind of angry.) Then the shredder is a definitely one to consider. It is also just a lot of fun to shoot, think a salt pellet gun. Josie Wales would be proud of the resolution of the video... 360p was hard to get back then.

Yeah 😖. I know. It was my first time exporting from iMovie and I didn’t catch the default setting until after it had been uploaded and a viewer caught it. I had checked it after uploading on my phone so I didn’t. By then I didn’t want to take it down. 🤦‍♂️

I love my Bug-A-Salt rifle, but I'm gonna havta call BS on these cartridges. I'm an old man, and I got the 'itis, so I was thinking about combining an airsoft pistol mechanism with the BAS salt delivery system. I'm sure it can be done. And I'm sure Lorenzo and the guys at BUG-A-SALT would have no trouble figuring out how to make it happen.

The Cartridge seem to be the big issue with the shred-er, mainly the cost of them and quite honestly reloading is a pain. Maybe check out the Salt Swat, I've done a couple of videos involving them, pretty cool, attaches to a Crosman 2240 and shoots straight up table salt. Power of the CO2 but loads like the bug a salt. Sounds kind of like what your are describing. I don't have the 'itis (yet), but cartridges are still a pain to reload.

just reuse the cartridges... tape some rice paper on one end... fill all holes with salt... seal the other end with another sheet of ricepaper

Get yourself a 4.5mm co2 revolver with cartridges for loading... load the cartridge with salt, use a small piece of cotton or toilet paper or something for wadding, it is an awesome fly swatter! and if you really wanna be a bad ass you can get a Winchester rifle using the same cartridges... If you wanna tune it slightly you could insert a brass tube with a 3mm inner diameter, i did it with an old crack barrel airgun... I’m dropping flies at 10+ feet. :)

This is the type of guy to read the entirety of his birthday card in full before even thinking about opening the gift and does it unbelievably slow just to be annoying. Really, 8:45 before you even attempt to take a shot? I'm surprised he didn't count every hole the salt made in the foil on camera before he did the next thing. Wish I could but I just can't watch his slowness anymore.

Yes, I agree, unbelievably slow. Although I wasn't actually trying to purposely be annoying. I had never made a video before in my life and probably should have edited out at least half of what I left in. Live and learn. I assumed people would skip through the boring parts, and then I added the chapter markers. 🤷‍♂️. and there were 947 salt holes in the foil. 😁👍🏽

I actually used to load my Daisy Powerline 880 with salt back in the 70’s and shoot bugs.

I wish I had thought about that back then, I was stuck shooting tin cans with that spring loaded .45 BB gun. Salt on bugs would have been awesome.

I deserve to have to have to answer this question every week or so 🤦‍♂️. It was my first video ever, and the default setting on iMovie was export to KZbin at 360, I did not catch it (didn't even look) as I didn't believe anybody was using 360 in 2021. When I checked the video after uploading, it was on my phone so I didn't notice. By the time one of the viewers mentioned it, I did not want to remove it from the channel due to the number of comments and views. So here I am doing penance for this mistake and repeatedly answering this totally justified question. Thank you 👍🏽

I agree. When I did the shred-er or bug a salt which to buy video, the bug a salt came out on top, for that exact reason, plus the fact you can't just pick up the shredder anytime to shoot the fly in the kitchen, or really, shoot it safely inside.

That entire revolver is just a crosman 357 .177 pellet pistol they stopped making a few years ago. Aspherical a little different , but frame and all the features are identical. Even the cartridges are the same except these have salt in them .

@justanotheravgjoe1314 3 жыл бұрын
I remember that one, I used to want one badly as a kid 😁. The current Crosman is the Vigilante which is just the update .357 and you are correct it is the lower, with a Bug-A-Salt upper. I have a side by side comparison video posting this weekend 🤞🏽(If I can find the time to finish editing), but yes, it Is the crosman lower. Thanks for the post, viewer posts are the main way I find this stuff out. 👍🏽
