I have mega pores from when I was maybe 11 or 12 and first hit puberty. I didn’t know to squeeze blackheads on my nose, so they just got bigger and bigger, and I would scratch but not squeeze. So a simple blackhead from literal childhood has left a permanent, noticeable stretched pore on my nose. I think skincare and acne treatment should be taught in school. People carry their scars on their face around with them for the rest of their lives.

Amen. I have a huge hole on my nose from when I was a teenager. People please be careful and don't mess with your acne.
@thoughtsandslayers3917 Жыл бұрын
I have a tiny permanent stretched pore above my upper lip, right in the center of my philtrum. I remember the very day I got it (from picking my acne) when I was 12, and now that I'm 47, gravity has stretched it ever so slightly and now it's a little oval! I hate it so much and I love to spackle it over with pore-blurring products. Thank goodness, it's my one and only lifelong acne scar, despite my uncontrollable pimple-popping for years as a teen.

Thanks for tips. Do you know any product that gets rid of blackheads on nose? I dont have acne any more but l have tired everything and l cant get rid of them. Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

@@annarose4828 Salicylic acid sometimes, but also using an oil cleanser. Buildup congests the pores and stretches them out. In science, "like dissolves like". So, an oil cleanser will pull the oily sebum and pore congestion out. Massage for several minutes to mix the natural oils of your face/nose with the oil cleanser. Rise and follow with your normal cleanser to get all the oils off, and moisturize. This was a game changer for me, and my skin has never felt so clean and clear!

YESSS, all my life I've been putting so much energy on hating what I call my "strawberry nose" but after starting to take better care of my skin (thanks to people like you) I noticed that if I just look at myself in the mirror without getting close my sebaceous filaments are not that big or noticeable.

This is what I always say. And it’s sad, that kids are forced to think, that having visible pores is not normal. I’m 36, and when I was a teen, we didn’t have such pressure. We were free. So, guys, eff all these “beauty” creators that mess with kid’s self esteem and spreading fear of normal physiology! Respect to dr. Dray!! 🎉❤

THIS! It's normal to have pores. Some people are stressed out over the most normal, most humane thing. Standing too close to the mirror is another reason why you'll never get rid of your insecurities. My mom had this problem, but i kept telling her that she looks fine. I mean, she still looks 28 in her mid 40's. Why does she have to be bothered by her prominent pores?
@AnnaHarestad7 ай бұрын
the glass skin trends were finally starting to get to me and make me insecure about my pores, but this video single-handedly made me feel so much better about it! just knowing that my skin is healthy and having visible pores is a good thing/not nearly as noticeable as what i worry about is so validating coming from a dermatologist

1) slightly off topic, but omg, listen to doctor dray!!! my skin produced sebum today, hallelujahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! after years of insanely dehydrated skin that is always bone dry by evening, today I have a teensy bit of oil, which ofc is a good thing (i m posing in the mirror like i m a supermodel over my dewy forehead hahaha)!!! following DrD's advice has saved me so much money & has actually improved my skin (and shrunk my pores) 2) best advice ever! btw, I finally got my skin blackhead-free after decades of really battling them, including squeezing & picking & permanently scarring or pigmenting myself, without ever asking myself if blackheads affect my appearance. turns out, nope, they dont. and I don't feel gorgeous when I lean in close to the mirror, I just find other stuff, like wrinkles, to obsess at. I've been stepping back & even doing things essentially blind (I have terrible vision w/o glasses). there's really no reason to get closer than other people will - and anyone you are going to kiss or hug should think you are gorgeous no matter what.
