🥨✨ How to Make Delicious Simit Bread | Kitchen Alchemy

🌟 This week, we’re diving into the world of Turkish cuisine with a delightful recipe for Simit, a popular street food in Turkey known for its crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior.
Ingredients:
• Flour: 500 g 🌾
• Milk: 250 ml 🥛
• Sugar: 100 g 🍬
• Egg: 1 🥚
• Butter: 50 g 🧈
• Salt: 5 g 🧂
• Yeast: 1 tsp 🍞
• Sesame seeds: 4 tsp 🌰
• Honey: 2 tsp 🍯
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add the egg, melted butter, and warm milk.
Mix until you have a smooth dough.
2. Knead and Rise:
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it’s elastic.
Place it back in the bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
3. Shape the Simit:
Once the dough has risen, divide it into equal parts.
Roll each part into a long rope and form into a ring, pressing the ends together to seal.
4. Coat with Sesame Seeds:
Mix the honey with a bit of water to create a glaze.
Dip each ring into the honey mixture, then roll in sesame seeds to coat evenly.
5. Bake to Perfection:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Tips and Tricks:
• For an extra crispy texture, you can double coat the Simit with sesame seeds.
• Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to properly activate the yeast.
• Experiment with different seeds or toppings to create your own Simit variation!
