Let's not discuss the appalling officiating, the lack of VAR in some games and not others, Mullin's acrobatics (although I agree he's a good solid player), the match stats.... let's forget all that and focus on what Billy said. That's football. Wrexham did excellent - he even said that but let's just stop being snowflake's and accept the result. No-one cared when the Forest fans were disrespectful to SUFC but we're not bitter. We still want them to do well in the Prem. It happens and anyone who's followed football for a long time has 100% heard far worse. It's just a passionate game and Sheff United are a passionate team. That's why we love it!

Sharp was physically attacked (head butted) by a fan on the pitch and McBurnie was accused of stamping on a Forest fan, again illegally on the pitch whilst at the time McBurnie was on crutches with a pot on his leg.

I'm a Sheff Utd fan so naturally I'll have a bias. But one thing I would say is do we want robots or do we want a bit of emotion/passion in interviews and in football as a whole. I'm all for the latter, clearly Billy was pumped and it came out just after the match too. These things make football more interesting in my view. Well played Wrexham, they were a credit to the Conference, although not so sure they're a Conference team to be honest with their budget. They can definitely have realistic aims at the Championship minimum. Onwards to the Spurs match, that will be tough but like Wrexham are priorities are getting promoted.

SW should have sealed this the first game and they didn't so I am not sure why he wants to pound his chest and then blame the ref. Was the first penalty questionable, yes but it was looked at. The second was about the stupidest move a defender, a CHAMPIONSHIP, defender can make. You expect that from u15 kids. So the fact they didn't put Wrexham away, a national league club, in the first game is madness. Wrexham have been known for being cocky throughout this competition and I personally think it smacks of disrespect. I remember one of there players saying they were disappointed as they had only drawn Coventry City and that the match would be a walkover and that Coventry aren't that big of a team and easy to beat etc. It seams like they've done a similar thing to Sheffield United. Wrexham are the Manchester City of non-league right now spending more money than any other non-league team and acting like the bees knees. I've seen arguments in the comments that this brand will encourage more investment in non-league but that is rubbish as why would Southend United, Scunthorpe United and Oldham Athletic all be on the verge of going out of business (I know with Scunthorpe they were recently brought but the point remains) and no hollywood people were looking at these clubs. It's also damaged the eco-system of non-league meaning those that are naturally trying to progress are hampered by these financial super powers coming through it's the same with Forest Green Rovers, Salford City and AFC Fylde. This is why Wrexham are disliked amongst non-league supporters partly through jealousy but also through a feeling of being economically ruined as less investment from above will come if it's seen that any hollywood person could just buy the club.

All 3 teams you mentioned about nearly going bust were in trouble before they came to non-league they've had poor ownerships for years(swann gambling scunthorpe away etc), literally nothing to do with Wrexham. A lot of teams in the national league also have their highest home attendance this season against Wrexham (e.g Altrincham facing Wrexham at home drew nearly 1500 more fans than any other game this season, while also being on BT sport ) which is actually a big financial gain for clubs at that level .

Much prefer this kind of interview to the media trained nothing burger statements. With that said, the condescending nature of Sharp's words isn't ideal. I would have preferred him to say something like "it was a little bit aggro and some unsporting behaviour out there, so we're extra pleased to win tonight". PS: always had a lot of time for Sharp as a pro and a man, after seeing him do the Great South Run for charity after the death of his child.

Yes! I was there at the game! The Referee was shocking and being at the game the team and fans think they are in with the bigs boys. They are still with the pub league sides and should have a bit more respect, instead of starting bonfires on the pitch. Just saying ☝

Why? It took your squad two tries to put them away. You also brought a really decent squad to Wrexham the first time. The Wrexham players owed nothing, your team lost that priviledge when you had to rely on an injury time goal to get the tie. They damn near beat you the first time and are, as you yourself said, "still with the pub league sides". Be glad your club wasn't Wrexham's second cupset in the run.

@@brianeleighton Hi there, good questions....The last month or two the Blades have not been on great form but by some miracle we have kept the momentum of winning matches... Now we have seen other teams actually doing this and either survived or winning a league,it doesn't mean they have played to there full potential. Now for the Wrexham game, I believed we had plenty of chances to score but didn't kill the game off and that allowed Wrexham into the game but also to Wrexhams due diligence, Wrexham with there confidence bullied and hustled at times through the match, especially at the beginnings of the second half... it was only by the 60 minute we started to wake up. So there's my view from a half Welsh always been and always will be a Nlades supporter 🖐 🙂
