I was very fortunate to have experiences as a teen to work with "toy" cement, concrete, and tile projects to learn the basics before I ever had to attempt to a "real" project. Knowing that you can easily replace a bit of sidewalk or lay a pad for an AC unit is a great skill to have.

Also use a hoe to mix its much easier and provides a better mix than a shovel.

Could you provide a cement:sand ratio for mortar (to be used for concrete hollow blocks), and also a cement:sand:gravel ratio for a driveway?
