I'd like to see the the water filter bag, the Opportunist Pouch, and the Mors-scarf on Etsy, and probably would buy a patch as well.

Nice little project Neil , got to be lighter then the original Millbank Bag as well . As for the Water Bottle Cover which is another excellent project , would be nice to see some of them Molle compatible , so they could be attached to a rucksack or other item .

Having two layers of fabric, the second layer will catch some sediment that the first did not catch,, but how do you clean out what gets between the two layers of fabric? Maybe have two separate single layer bags, (placing one inside of the other), then to clean between them after use, you simply pull the inside bag out.

I had purchased one of the Brown bags (the civilian equivalent to this) and was following the instructions to break it in, soaking it and flexing and agitating it so it's thoroughly soaked then ensure it's dry before putting away, considering the amount of water involved I decided to do all this in the bathroom so , after everything, at the height of summer I hung it over the bath to dry, after 36 hrs it was still damp

Mate, stock those things. Presumably, you can gauge demand before you make too many to sell, eh? I don't even have access to a sewing machine, so leaving aside the fact that 'd likely stitch my fingers to my trousers if I was let loose on one, it has to be said that what's easy for the next bloke might be far from easy for me! That's not to say that I don't enjoy the content, so thanks for making that, and for sharing it.

Brilliant info, love the channel Neil. Quick question: what sewing machine do you use for your projects?
@greencraft47833 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas, I use an old Pfaff machine, very solid and reliable.

A good idea but I wonder how many of these will get made out of waterproof ripstop nylon. Presumably you can force air through your material. From my very limited knowledge of parachute material, the early decent chutes had a permeable material that let the air through. Modern flying chutes have impermeable ripstop nylon that does not. A test before making might be prudent as you don't know what the ebay sellers are providing. If you google "parachute material" then the reply comes back as "waterproof". But then I could be wrong...
@greencraft47833 жыл бұрын
The last time I bought olive ripstop parachute nylon it was definitely not coated. The orange and khaki (more coyote) definitely is coated, I might buy some olive to see if that is still the case.
@muddy111113 жыл бұрын
@@greencraft4783 You can certainly get porous parachute nylon on ebay, look for the seller englishseadog.
