I bumped into your videos and watched a couple of them. I decided to buy one from eBay to try on my 11 RX450H. I was able to use this device to register a used OEM virgin key fob I bought from eBay (again, by following your another video of using TechStream to program OEM key fob). As you said, this device does what TechStream does. I also was able to register 4 aftermarket TPMS. I am not tech savvy. I am more than happy to only use the above two mentioned functions, which were quoted insanely expensive by the local Lexus dealers. I am so satisfied that this device saves me a lot of money already. Now I am going to use it for my 08 RX400H for the same functions. Thank you.

what they couldn't make it as a Bluetooth adapter and a tablet/phone. having a separate device with a screen/battery/MCU it's just an extra cost. still, it's an amazing device - you would need to buy a special OBD cable to be able to link your tire pressure sensors and those cost ~$100.

Programs same as Techstream, you need to write down all the sensor codes and input them into the primary or 2nd set. I'll do a video with my 2IS later.

Hi Binh, love the videos! Could I use this to identify a bcu problem and program a new bcu? I have a 02 manual swapped is300 sportcross with a non functioning hatch and I’ve tried pretty much everything to troubleshoot it, and I think it might be a prob with the bcu. Thanks.

Don’t think so. If it’s a wiring or circuit issue, they won’t really detect that.

Going to order one, I'm curious about programming TPMS replacements, my 2008 is simple, does not care where tire is, just needs all 4 serial numbers pushed to the car computer, will this do that? It does not have a reader, so I assume some screen allows you to enter new sensor serial numbers and push to computer through OBDS 2 port? THANKS!!!

For TPMS registration, you need the HEX codes off each sensor and then you input them using the TPMS wizard. I’m planning on doing a video demo of that functionality on my next video.

I have new sensors waiting to install with tire swap, so I have easy access to the serial numbers in case the tire store does not want to just do it as a courtesy, There used to be a ATEQ Quickset TPMS ECU Reset Tool online, around $100 and you loaded serial numbers into PC interface and then into OBDS2 port. but no longer for sale, this scanner is barely more than I was going to spend on that other tool if I got to obsessing about it. I guess it's real value was people doing winter/summer tires as it made trading easy, it had a snow and sun button. I think would hold 2 sets on device for loading ease.

I need to know if the tool will allow me to CHANGE settings (ECU) such as seat belt warnings, GPS signal, Pre-collision system disable/ enable etc. Please let me know!

Idk what the options are for the 2024. There are different personalized settings in all Lexus vehicles.

I did select all on updates, turns out it will reinstall current ones if you select them, I finally took a picture of version numbers to confirm if they were the same, compared to once one update was installed it then allowed another to be needed for related content. In Diagnose-all, I'm still trying to figure out what difference between "Honda (Dongfeng)" , "Honda (GAC)" and just simply "Honda" The other option on that page is "AutoDetect" If I select "Asian" it reduces to just Demo/Honda/Acura

@@TunerwithKids did you conveniently forget to mention that none of these exciting features are included with the unit, and they must be RENTED at a very high cost separately? Because I have purchased the item at your suggestion and it does not have the features you show out of the box.

@thermal_el_jackson run the updates. It’s included with the Toyota V51 software. All I did was open and update then plugged it in and had everything. Didn’t pay anything extra as the unit I got was advertised for Toyota. They also make a Honda version that has the Honda software.

Binh, I was looking at getting an otofix d1 or a topdon bidirectional scanner. Wife drives 01 rx300 and I have an 04 is300 MT. Do you think having the scanner you showed having “techstream like” features more valuable than the ones I was looking at that are made more for a tech who will see multiple makes and models? I was leaning towards the bigger boys just to get better capabilities at looking at live stream data graphing etc.

Each of these scanners comes with specialized software for the cars you work on. Some of the more universal scanners may have multiple softwares but may cost more. I’m not familiar with what others offer but for me, this works for my cars.

Have you tried programming a smart key? I've been trying with a 2015 Land Cruiser and it always fails at the very end. I also only have the option for Smart Key Registration (Classic). I think tech stream on a laptop gives you the option w/out the classic. The instructions with the classic tells me to hold the fob to the start button on the car.

I haven’t for this unit. I’ve used techstream before to do it. The main thing is the new key has to be brand new or “virginized”. A used key previously programmed to another vehicle won’t work unless you reseed the ECU and start with all new keys.

You can't program new modules as you need the calibration files from techstream and all immo functions are locked unless you have NASTF account

For personal experience I wouldn't recommend buying this scan tool. I needed it to show me transmission fluid temperatures to replace said fluid and when the time came to finally get to it it wouldn't even show me an option to read the temp. It gave me engine oil temp and coolant but not transmission. Keep in mind it did give me the reading days before. I was going to use it on a 2018 4runner. And I also have a 2002 Tacoma. All problems started after connecting it to my Tacoma. My mechanic connected his to my Tacoma and didn't have a single problem reading parameters which is what the Launch scanner wasn't reading anymore. I updated it and everything. Everything was good up until the day I wanted to drain and fill my ATF fluid on my 2018 4runner I do not recommend this scanner at all. A 20 dollar OBD2 scanner worked better than this crap
