I must say after leaving my doctors office feeling very frustrated with her telling me I have arthritis in my knees and feet and nothing can be done, you definitely give me hope to keep trying new things and for that I’m so very thankful ❤

Tina, the same thing happened to me about 2 months ago. I've been trolling youtube ever since and have been doing yoga and stretching every day. It's making a huge difference. I'm so glad we're both finding hope. Thanks Dr Alyssa!

Oh wauw I needed these excercises. I really want to be able again to sit cross-legged . I thought this wasn't possible anymore because of my Systemic Sclerose. But with these excercises and your support I have my confidence back. Thank you dear Alyssa. With regards, Lily

I just did this sequence and was immediately able to sit cross legged, not wonderfully and i wouldnt dare try to reach forward but it was amazing the amount of improvement. I think for me the squats with the band and the figure 4 working it slowly produced immediate improvement. Ill be doing this daily for sure

Awesome. You are right - I was told x-legged folds are an abs no no for my KOA condition. And you are right - I ruled them out of my life...till now, when I chanced upon your video. I'll try your steps. Cuz, ever since I stopped sitting cross-legged my thighs have become super stiff😢

I have never been able to sit cross legged… I’ll be 70 years old… I have to have a hip replacement and I’m very concerned because I can’t even put a sock on on my left foot because I can’t bend it… So I am thinking, even if they do a hip replacement. If my muscles are still locked up😩 I’m still not gonna be able to do this, right? And then I have to have my knee replaced on the opposite side in my right side so it doesn’t bend… I love these exercises I just found it this morning at 6:30 AM. Thank you so much for explaining it so well.

Hi! I really like learning from you. I am in my mid 60’s and stiff & sore from being sedentary, after retiring to a trailer. It is too hot/humid for walking outside. This and so many of your videos are helping! Where is the clip on getting up from the floor? Thanks!

Do you have anything on training your legs or hips to go from cross leg to standing without hands? I get stuck just at the part to get over my hips. Thanks

I am 76 years old man and I don't have a problem sitting cross legged. My problem is my wrists. When I want to get up off the floor I need to use my hands and when I do I have pain in both wrists.

What is the best position to sit on the floor if someone has hip osteoarthritis on 1 side which has reduced flexibility/range of motion. Is it still cross legged? Even if the knee will not drop at all?
@TguyMTL Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed your approach in explaining the exercises and movements. I have always had an issue in trying to sit cross legged. At 48 it has become increasingly difficult. Im wondering if this has something to do with my additional inability to properly squat without leaning forward from the hip....I know my glute strength is very weak.

Is it safe to learn to do again, if you have osteoporosis?
@arthritisadventure Жыл бұрын
sitting cross legged is usually okay if you have osteoporosis but it is something to first try on a bed or a couch before trying on the floor. Make sure it feels good to you.
