All I've ever had was situationships. People who secretly pined after me but always made me feel like I was delusional for liking them as much as I did. Then somehow months/years down the line after I'd gotten over whatever happened and healed from it, the asshats find me again. Then one of two things happen: I either rip them a new one with my words and get away by physically fight off their advances, or (on the few times they find me when I'm drunk), they do whatever they want with as much consent as a blackout drunk person can give, and leave.

Situationships are complicated. Like a lot of people (I imagine since I've never been in a situationship before), you're emotionally invested in someone, but not as much as you could because of a lot of reasons (notably you still feel a type of way with her). I think you did good by sitting down and having a mature conversation about just ending the whole relationship

Being in a situationship is so difficult! On one hand, you’re single and free to do what you want. On the other hand, you feel a bit guilty when you see others. In addition, if they see other people, you do feel hurt and a bit like you’re allowing yourself to be cheated on. The best decision I ever made was getting out of a situationship. At the ending of the day, you either want to be with me or you don’t. There’s no in between.
