Sometimes video game designers, animators, and other visual artists go a little overboard with their firearm designs, adding a bunch of non-functional bulk and spikey bits that ruin the weight, balance, and ergonomics. Of course those things are often given a pass with the old "it's just fantasy" attitude, which is fine. But sometimes the over-designing makes those monstrosities rather hard on the eyes.
Taken inspiration from history and modifying existing guns to make them more unique and badass however can work out quite nicely for aesthetics. This is a great example of that: Percival de Rolo's pepperbox from the animated series The Legend of Vox Machina (originally from Critical Role, a DnD group of professional voice actors).
It's unique because it's a one-of-a-kind weapon in a world with mostly medieval inspired arms and armor, it looks good, and it makes practical sense. Let's take a closer look at Percy's instrument of vengeance.
