The last video in the skin prep for MUAs series - dealing with combination skin!! This video combines elements of all the previous videos from the skin prep series. Make sure to watch them before watching this video! I'm finding this video to be a bit bright - tried out some new lighting but i'm still figuring out how to shoot it properly.

Thank you Angie! Although it isn't as fun as watching you apply makeup, proper skin prep is soooo, sooo important. It can make or break the entire makeup look, longevity and performance. And there arent' many videos that really talk about it. I'd love to see how you do some of your portfolio worthy super clean, dewy looks for your photoshoots sometime.

Hey Angie, thanks so much for this video, I'm a working makeup artist and I'm always looking for something to enhance about my makeup application 😊 I recently bought the face atelier foundation you recommended and I'm in love! I tried a bunch of high end products and I was not fully satisfied with any of them (except for mac face and body). So I'm really glad I tried the face atelier one ❤️😊

that's great to hear Anna! I love it!!! I love Face and Body too but I find the Face Atelier to be a little more forgiving on skin that is not so perfect!!
@AnnaCash
@AnnaCash 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for you answer 😊 I use the face and body mainly on models and brides that want a really minimal makeup look and have awesome skin. I used mac studio fix fluid foundation on my brides but I find that it emphasizes pores and dryness and mattifies to much for a bridal look, so I'm really happy with the finish of the face atelier foundation!

Good series Angie. If the skin is not prepped properly you just end up babysitting it all day and that get's frustrating for you, the talent, and production not good.

With oily skin , I use normally this oil free Dermalogica active moist , but I think I need to use WAY more mattefying product bc I’ve run into having the makeup slide / move or come off so quick on client while I’m applying ! Ugh it’s frustrating but I also need a better foundation brush .

Hey Angie! I was wondering if you could do a video on tips for touch ups for photo shoots/ weddings and fav products and techniques??
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
I could definitely do a version of something like that. Every shoot is so different and depending on what/where I am shooting my touch up techniques are different for each job. I might be able to include how to touch up the looks I create when I start shooting makeup applications.

Yesss it's so expensive to ship here to Peru as well! I wait until I have a couple of packages in my shipito PO box and then the shipping cost is a little more bearable, because I'm getting more than one product with the 40 dollar shipping fee. :3 I just hope her sales pick up so she can get a discount with DHL.

Hi Karolina! There are tons of people that have a little fuzz on their face - the secret is really to just not cake it on. Foundations that are light with good coverage are great and same thing goes with any powder. Less is more.

I have combination skin and I was able to take away some tips to use in my PERSONAL life as well lol 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 You literally have the best videos!!! ♥️♥️♥️ Question, it isn’t video relevant, but when you’re applying for a pro card and one of the verifications asks for a diploma/certificate, is the certificate like one you would get if you signed up for a 2-3 day course under another artist? Like Priscilla Ono or MakeupbyMario? I know they do courses but is that what the companies are referring to? Or no?
@AngieDiB

Thanks for watching! I am not sure, you would have to contact the companies you are applying with.

I'm going to be doing my soon-to-be aunt's bridal makeup in March and she has combo skin, do u have a good recommendation of foundation we could use? I wanna be able to sample it fire the trial before we buy a full size and she has acne scars as well.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 5 жыл бұрын
I can't make appropriate recommendations without seeing the client in person. The foundations I recommend for professional use are Face Atelier, Cinema Secrets, and RCMA. I also don't know what you have access to in terms of product availability and budget. You can order samples of foundation from Camera Ready Cosmetics which might be a good place to start.

Thank you so much Angie! I have a video idea that would be very helpful for me, and I have looked for it and haven’t seen it done. I know you are going to start filming doing makeup on real people, which I am looking forward to very much. But is it possible, for a video or two, that as you are putting makeup on people,the camera is not on them, but on you and your makeup station? I think it would be great to literally just watch what you do at your station. I think I could learn time management, and how you stay sanitary and clean. I hope what I’m saying makes sense. Of course, if you don’t see how this could benefit I totally understand! You have been an incredible help already, and I am very thankful. I am BRAND NEW starting as an MUA, and I’m honestly ashamed to have anyone look at my Instagram(currently my portfolio), but I am pushing through and I’m working at it and slowly getting together with photographers and having my friends be models. 😂 Being a pregnant, stay at home mom of soon to be 2 boys under 2 years old has had some setbacks on pursuing my career as much as I would like to. But I’m eating up all the info you can give (and I hope to pay for soon😁), so that sooner or later I can put it into action! Hope you are having a great week! 👍🏻👊🏻

Hi Angie! I have two questions: 1.) how do you go about covering a blemish that your client recently popped? I have had problems in the past where someone pops a blemish either right before or close to me applying their makeup and there is still oil seeping (super gross) and the makeup just wont cover. What is your best tips in this situation? 2.) with color correcting by mixing it with the foundation, can you mix a cream color corrector in a liquid foundation? This just might require me experimenting but I thought I’d ask the expert aka you first! Thanks for all the knowledge!!
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Mackenzie! I'll try to answer as best I can. I don't really like to advise on specific application techniques because there are so many things that you need to consider. 1. This totally depends on where it is, what colour the skin tone is etc. You do need to give the blemish some time to dry up so work around it and tackle it last if you can. 2. Yes you can, just pay attention to how pigmented it is because correctors can adjust the lightness or darkness of your foundation.
@makenzieshank2879
@makenzieshank2879 6 жыл бұрын
Angie Di Battista thanks for the answers! I always make sure I tell me bride to NOT pop a blemish at all so most of the time it is the bridesmaids I have to worry about. I’ll definitely give it more time to dry. It always makes me cringe when they do pop it because all of the bacteria/oils is going to spread and likely cause another blemish. 🙈 but I know sometimes people can’t resist! Lol so what is your advice on covering an acne scab? Would you exfoliate it or leave it ok and work around it? Also a Whitehead? Sorry for so many questions ! I just keep thinking of some of the worst case scenarios.
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 6 жыл бұрын
Again - this is really specific makeup application stuff that is hard for me to address without instructing you in person. I would not exfoliate an acne scab, exfoliating it can lead to a world of problems for you and your client. As far as whiteheads go again it totally depends on the look you are trying to achieve and the makeup you are using. Try not to obsess over what you can't control!

Hey Angie, I’ve been binge watching your videos just about everyday 😩 but I’m still confused on my skin type. I was sure it was combination. I get very dry skin around my nose, hairline, eye contour and eyebrows. So I treat the dry skin but after finishing my makeup I see my skin is super oily in the areas I treated and my pores are huge. Does that mean the products I used to treat the dryness are too much? Or do I have combo skin that’s more towards the oily side?
@AngieDiB
@AngieDiB 5 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is so hard for me to answer without seeing your skin. You could be washing your face with something that is too drying, it could be the moisturizer is too rich, it could be you have more oily/dehydrated skin. I really don't know what to tell you unfortunately.
