Great video. One point. The keeper knobs for the engine cover are covered with rubber. It might be better to use a rubber preservative cleaner and silicone grease or spray on them. Oil will eventually cause rubber parts to harden and crack.

Mercedes loves making you do more work. In the E39 I had the airfilter box simply pulls out. Changing the filter took about 30 seconds if not less.

Thanks for your great DIY videos. I got my self a 2000 ML320 (w163) and I am going to do an transmission oil flush/change. I am going to use TITAN ATF 3353 transmission fluid (MB-APPROVAL 236.12). Also I am going to change the filter as well. Currently I got my eyes set on a Mann filter kit, but it's not made in Germany but China instead. I got nothing against Chinese made goods, but since the 722.6 transmission is a very picky transmission should I just get a genuine Mercedes kit instead? It's a price difference of $16 for the Mann kit and $55 for the Genuine Mercedes kit. What do you think? thanks :)

Hi +cyronader, You're welcome! I'm glad I can help. That's Awesome! I would recommend you buy what will make you feel at ease. I've experimented with different brands and sometimes I end up overthinking their performance and quality later down the road. In reality, I think that whichever filter you choose will be fine. The more important thing to consider is the transmission fluid, which seems to me, that you already have that area covered.

Mercedes S500 W220 needs two engine air filters inside air filter box and two cabin air filters behind the glove compartment.
