I think the line "Some know me as hope. Some people know me as the voice you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope" is one of the most powerful lyrics I've ever heard and you shouldn't apologize for how that line hit your heart. I can't get it out of my mind. Bless you.

Agreed. That’s the line where the tears start flowing for me, too…my heart feels like it’s going explode…it lasts til the very end of the poem at the end of the song. Ren is brilliant. Edit: In truth, the tears start to gather, and my heart starts to hurt, w the line, “I was made to be tested and twisted…” By the time he stands on his own 2 feet and then talks about being known as hope, I’m crying. And when he starts to sing, it’s game over. And don’t get me started on the loosening of the noose on the rope. The guy is brilliant. And he gets it. He knows. Knowing there are people out there who understand is comforting. He really is Hope.

Another theme that comes up again and again is the "imposter syndrome" almost all my friends and family suffer, and Ren helped them find the language and tap into the emotions and sway with the dance. I love that everyone can find a message/ theme in Hi Ren that's personal to them or a loved one. I watched it so many more times and sent it to all of my friends. It still makes my eyes water everytime I listen to this song. I learned more about Ren as well. He was diagnosed with Lime disease, and was unable to even walk for years. That was the significance of him standing up at the end when his positive, strong, and triumphant return happens. I absolutely love this song. It is by farm my favorite song ever... Know you aren't alone in your struggle, your fight. So many people feel just like you do listening to this song.

Reactions like these are why I've binged "Hi Ren" reactions over the past week. That honest feeling of emotion this evokes, that feeling of thinking "I'm not the only one." These reactions allow me to experience that feeling all over again. It's a provides a wonderful catharsis (my SAT word for the day) that I can't get enough of.

his first strings he hit in his song is powerful! I am trying to learn the guitar, but his strength on the strings are so hard, they hit with a solid punch. I just started learning, but the love to hearing his acoustic guitar played. his chords are so strong. hitting the strings so hard, it amazes me, then he uses his strength on the guitar to amplify his bad side of REN. fucking amazing

Please, don't be apologetic for being moved. The message of the song, it's raw emotion and vulnerability reached you. Those of us watching these reactions are hoping for honest reactions that can't be hidden. Especially is we were so moved and we want to experience that move again, for the first time, through the lens of someone else's reaction. Ren is a rabbit hole and a swiss army knife of an artist with a deep back catalog. If you choose to pursue it, I hope you enjoy the journey.

Sweetheart.....I am a Momma and a Nana and I am proud of YOU. Ren just perfectly expressed such human feelings we can relate to on such a deep level, and in a way I have neeeeever heard before. Soooo real, and so true and raw. What an impressive musical and lyrical genius he is. How fortunate we are to have experienced his music and message. And likewise, thank you for being here with your raw emotions so we can also feel human and have a connection to you, and to others. It's cathartic, I think, that we've had such a visceral reaction to this. And it stays with us....in a good way. Hugs to you.

What a joy to watch this. I’m a little obsessed with reaction videos to ‘Hi Ren’ as it’s literally a masterpiece in so many ways. Yours especially touched me at 9:42it hit you just as it hit me. I felt like I was punched in the gut the first time I heard this song and shed tears MANY listens later. Still do sometimes but mainly now it's when it hits reactors like it did me. I don't want to see anyone cry but I seek out reactors who got it the way I and so many people do. Ren can do all genres of music. Some fun and some that really hit you in the feels. "Chalk Outlines"with Chinchilla is another that hit me like this. Check that out and literally all of his other stuff. Dude is a master storyteller and he can RAP rap. Peace and strength to you.

Thank you for your empathy and heartfelt reaction. I'm a 56 yo man with a mohawk and I bawl like a baby at many of Rens songs. They touch you in a way that few things can, but that shared experience with all of us who are falling down the Ren rabbit hole is cathartic. Knowing you are not alone and recognising that our darkest moments are part of what it means to be human is a liberating thing that can really help, and you don't need to look far to see that Rens messages and experiences are saving lives. Ren is an absolute prodigy of almost any genre. I hope you choose to see more of what he does, he can sing like an angel, tell a tale like a troubadour of old times and Rap like he was born spitting bars. If you are prepared for the emotions, check Ren and chinchilla , either 'I forgot how to be me (live)' or 'chalk outlines' (live). Beautiful haunting music that will be with you for ever. If you want to lighten it up, check out 'Losing it' . A personnel fave is 'Blind eyed', but watch this version as its not on any ren sites so people often miss it and its simply the best: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKuappppd8SGqtU Your genuine reaction has earned you a well deserved sub from me.

Your reaction shows how powerful this piece is. I shared this video with a lot of people, using ‘powerful’ as the word to describe it. It destroyed me. @@SlashleySlays I do as well but mostly in others reactions, it hit me harder than anything ive ever listened to in my guts, I commented a huge comment up above or down below umm lol no pun intended, whichever way the older comments land for you. But quite simply I watch others reacting to this for their first time because it is so amazing to me how alone I felt years ago to watch people watching the same thing and knowing that we all go through some insane struggle one way or the other, and that we all have to fight to keep going. And how rare it is that I see someone as beautiful as you are also be empathetic and able to see that struggle within you as the rest of us .. not that your outside beauty has anything to do with it, just that most people that I have seen on youtube, twitch so on and so forth, don't portray themselves honestly and with as much feeling and empathy.. which is why i stated in my other comment your outer beauty is only brightened by your inner.

Oh, Ashley. To start off. I am Proud of YOU. You gave us the GIFT of a 100% GENUINE reaction. THIS masterpiece has been touching people all over the WORLD. I really could go on for days (I SERIOUSLY mean DAYS) about this astounding young man, his talent and music. But, this is for YOU. I just found you today. I wished that I had seen it 2 days ago. You are a BEAUTIFUL young woman. (I can say that, I'm 55.) Who is FEARLESS enough to start a KZbin channel. But, GENUINE enough for us to see and feel how the music touches you. Very well done, young lady. By no means is that said in a condescending way. I HIGHLY encourage, suggest, recommend, ask, plead etc etc. That you continue to explore and discover Ren's music. The ONLY constant about ANY of it. Is that it's NEVER the same. As to where to go next... You could go the normal path. But for YOU, I would recommend an old one. It's Alright, live I think. I want to see you SMILE. So, dear girl. I hope that you have a stellar day and your path be filled with hope, joy and love. Don't forget to pass it on. The world will be a better place.

I have been on a marathon watching reactors speaking on Ren’s music since I discovered it. I don’t recall any artist ever making me feel so connected to people from different walks of life. Everytime it gets to the bit where Ren talks about hope, particularly “the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope” I tear up. Every single time. Then the part at the end where he finds acceptance that he has these two sides and learns to dance with his darkness instead of fighting it…I’m in the struggle and trying to learn how to dance like this myself at 38 years old. I know Ren has inspired me to start reaching out for help where I’ve been neglecting myself for so long. If he’s had that affect on me I have to assume he’s had it on others also. It’s nice to meet you, I appreciate the kindness you project with your channel. Thanks for reacting to this. Good luck with everything you do.

I think the best tribute to a musician, Artist, or Actor is to be moved by their performance....And for Musicians we rarely get moved like this...Seems, our musicians may be able to get us up and dancing or to shake a fist in the air violently but few can move us as Ren just did....He makes us cry but also makes us think about humanity and ourselves...Its truly a talent for someone who can reach deep inside himself and weave a one man performance in such a way that we sit staring and listening totally transfixed to his every word.
@simontemplar3359 Жыл бұрын
Wow. This was tremendous. Your insights were powerful, and this song really seemed to speak to you. I just wanted to say how awesome i think it is, and i mean this in the actual sense of the word, like awe inspiring, that Ren took his mental health issues (which to make a super fast explanation, he suffered with undiagnosed Lyme disease and as the symptoms popped up, doctors treated him for separate mental illnesses. The meds didn't work and the underlying sickness remained undiagnosed. He got signed to Sony records, but was such a wreck physically that they dropped him (real prince of a guy, whomever made that call). He ended up getting a stem cell transplant and has since been properly diagnosed. He's in Canada now undergoing treatment). Ok so for that guy who is so young to have the wisdom and vision to turn his suffering into art... It blows my mind. What really gets me is how many conversations this has started. This stuff matters so much. I hope you go down the rabbit hole with the rest of us!! He defies genre! Lastly, when you took a moment to say "I'm proud of you," that may be one of the kindest things I've ever seen. You considered that someone out there night need that and you offered it. That's brilliant. Total respect. 👽👍🏼
@SlashleySlays Жыл бұрын

I'm a week post-surgery, dealing with a massive infection, in pain, bedbound by chronic health issues and now on my 4th procedure in the last few months, with - in all likelihood - a much bigger and riskier one needed because of the complications I'm having. I'm exhausted, sick, in constant pain and struggling to keep pushing forward right now, and maybe it's stupid, but just hearing some random person telling me that they're glad I'm here and they're proud of me when it feels like I have nothing buoying me up right now... thank you.
