The way Vessel interprets rhythm, the way he writes lyrics, the way II makes his drumming musical, the tone of Vessels's voice, and the way he pronounces words. It's a magical mix of something that becomes addicting.

Just a few brief points to try to answer a few of your questions. 1. I have just attended a ritual (concert) in London to see Sleep Token last Friday. If you have the chance to see them live then I definitely recommend that you attend as they are incredible live. 2. The band have stated that they are united in the worship of an ancient diety known by them as Sleep. So they aren't Christian, but they do invoke a lot of Christian religious language and iconography in their songs. As a dichotomy to religion they also invoke a lot of scientific language in their lyrics. At certain points during rituals (concerts), they have automated messages played over the P.A. in between songs. Some do have a certain theistic theme to them, but others have a more scientific and naturalistic theme. This sort of duality is very prevalent within everything Sleep Token does. 3. In my humble opinion, this song is just a cry from Vessel to return to a more innocent time. In other songs Vessel alludes to having gone through a very serious trauma and here he is wishing he could go back to both the time and the person he was before. I am really enjoying watching you react to this amazing band, and I hope you continue your journey down this deep rabbit hole. Subscribed. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

Great reaction. I saw Sleep Token live two weeks ago in Berlin. It was incrediply phenomenal. This song is not my Top 5 fav, BUT when this came in consert, im not sure what happened to me. I cant explain it, but i think it was some kind of out of body experience. Im over 50 and not any music ever had made me feeel this way. What a great time to be alive🖤 Worship🖤

I saw them in the States in May and I can honestly say was the best concert I've seen besides Korn. I'm over 50 also so yeah, probably the best band I've heard in over 30 years 😊

The same thing happened to me with "Rain". I saw them in May and I loved the song "Rain" but it wasn't in my top 5 until I saw it live and it was like a religious experience. It was actually raining. Vessel's mic stand blew over. But they were not distracted. Everyone including my daughter and I had our hands up to the sky. It was crazy. Also, IV's scream of "Rain down on me" at the end of the clapping part...WOW. Now it's tied with "Vore" and "Descending" for my favorite song. (I'm 55 and go to a ridiculous number of concerts...my favorite one no doubt) ❤

Great reaction! I interpret the beginning of the song as him being in his version of the garden of Eden, but something feels off and then he's sinking to this dark place and away from his Eden ("we dive through crystal waters, perfect oceans, but no one told me not to breathe, and now the weightlessness recedes"). "I spit blood when I wake up..." that's him waking up in this new reality where things are dark and painful and the entire song is him yearning to get back to Eden, when things were innocent, pure, and good. "My my those eyes like fire, I'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre" is essentially like a moth to a flame. Now make that moth sentient and he knows that it will be the death of him, but he has a desperate yearning to get there anyway. "No amount of self sought fury will bring back the glory of innocence" meaning you can be angry and rage as much as you want about the situation, but it's not going to change anything. It's not going to bring you back to that time when things were innocent and good. But he's going to rage anyway. "I don't know what's got its teeth in me, but I'm about to bite back in anger" is essentially a culmination of his frustration and desperation at the situation and his need to get back to his Eden. The ending is him doing just that; biting back in anger. "I have traveled far beyond the path of reason, take me back to Eden." Sleep Token is an incredible journey. I recommend having the lyrics up for any of their other songs you react to. They're so poetic really enhance the experience. 🖤 Liked and subbed.

I think he wants something to return to the way it used to be. Be it a relationship or a better time in his life. He first says "I WILL travel far beyond the path of reason." He'll do whatever it takes to get that good thing back. At the end of the song, when he's screaming, he says "I HAVE traveled far beyond the path of reason" and he realizes it's time to stop, let go of what he desperately wants, end his mental and emotional suffering, and start healing. ✨️

I implore you to follow the story starting at Sundowning through This Place Will Be Your Tomb and onto Take Me Back To Eden. There is an ebb and flow through the whole thing that ends with Euclid on TMBTE. Take the journey, don't skip around, listen to the lyrics. The music videos are almost worthless except for the last album. You were wondering what was coming out of the statue in this one as well as the others a black liquid comes out. In the first line of Euclid they say: "Run it back give me five whole minutes, I am black tar on the inside burning." If you notice in this video there are two empty containers through 90% of the video around the fallen angel. They fill with this tar that has been seeping from the statue and on the walls towards the end. These containers are a metaphor for Vessel through other videos, empty in every one until the end here when he's had enough and is about to explode. There are little Easter eggs here and there but the lyrics and the music is more important than any figure they make with an image generator. Good reaction but I think you would do well forming the whole story from the beginning for yourselves.

Sleep token is multi genre , best to have the lyrics out for all their songs , the deity this band follows is the anicent pagan deity who has different names in different cultures, she is the goddess of dreams so hence goddess Sleep. This deity is goddess of dreams for all beings.

This song is about love and a toxic relationship… innocent and beautiful at first but then becomes evil, toxic and the reason the author of the lyrics wants to die. Have you ever heard anyone say “that girl (or boy) will be the death of me? This is how I interpret this…. An angel becomes the grim reaper in the end…

I think that probably everyone that listens to Sleep Token's music has a theory, whether it's their own or they agree with ones they've already heard, but one thing that can definitely be said about them is that they are truly different. I hadn't heard of them until earlier on this year and I would be lying if I didn't say their music has become a sort of obsession - I honestly haven't felt like this way about anyone's music probably since Kate Bush released "Wuthering Heights" in 1978 and it sort of feels like I should be too old to be fangirling, but there you have it. If you haven't heard them already, I'd recommend listening to "Fields of Elation" from their first EP, "One", and then "Blood Sport". This is the final track from their first album, "Sundowning", but you *need* to listen/watch the "From The Room Below" version. Have tissues ready if you become moved by music at all, or at the very least a glass of water. As for seeing Sleep Token live, I saw them last week in Manchester and they were amazing! It's no exaggeration to say that it was almost like a religious experience and my only real sadness was that I couldn't stand down at the front. I've seen quite a few performances from different people over the years but Sleep Token definitely trumped the lot of them - their performance was spectacular, the light show was out of this world and the sheer wall of sound was...well, that would need to be experienced to be believed, because it's not like anything I could put a description to. Thank you for this reaction. I think it might be the first time I've seen one of your videos. As for the implement the reaper-angel holds, that's a scythe, pronounced siy-the (but the e at the end is silent), or S (as in Say), ai (as in eye), ð (as in this) [source, Cambridge Dictionary; dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/scythe]. Hope this helps.

You need to go back to the EP's then start the albums...eventually you will get some of the lore...it's so deep and you are right the live gigs are a ritual, that's what all us fans call them. Just off the top of my head you want When the bough breaks, Nazareth, dark signs, sugar, blood sport, the offering, the night does not belong to god, God's, Atlantic, hypnosis, Alkaline, High water and the entire TMBTE album, then you gotta do Hey ya, shelter, the way that you were and when the party's over....everything these guys do is just bang on. Saw them at the O2 last week (3rd time seeing them) I've seen 500 people, 10,000 then 20,000 these guys DO NOT MISS!

Part of me things the song is about going back to a time where people were kind and selfless. Not this day and age of greed and power worship.
