Starting January 1st 2023 my husband and I started a new family tradition, having a family dinner once a month so we all can take the time to sit and have dinner as family. Since all our kids (6) are grown and are making families of their own, we don't see each other as much as we would like to so this is a guarantee. Lol. We have dinner, dessert and coffee. This is on my next family dinner dessert list. ❤ Thank you!

That looks amazing! I almost always "bakery" up those boxed cake mixes too. If a chocolate one, I use chocolate milk instead of the water and I add a tsp. of vanilla. Makes them better to me. This is a great recipe that I will save and thank you so much for the tip about a towel over the top will keep added moisture from falling into that cake. I had never thought of doing that 👍🫶

Yes, you are correct. Boxed cake mixes are getting smaller. The smallest sizes at Walmart are 13.25 oz. (smallest) to 18.25 oz. (largest). It's getting harder to find the 15.25 oz size.

I understand the frustration with the ever-shrinking cake mix. I found a recipe for cake mix "up-sizer." You can use a half cup of this mix or measure 3 oz. on a scale. Yields 2 1/2 cups (about 6 portions) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda DIRECTIONS Measure the 4 ingredients into a bowl. Whisk together until evenly distributed. Spoon mixture into clean mason jar. Store covered in pantry.

I think alot of folks will dive right in including me. I do however put lemon juice in with alil water to put apples in for then to not turn brown till finished. I have put them in a mix if using brown sugar n they seemed fine. Would cut down on some of the rubbing with the lemon n get us to drooling faster lol 😊❤😊
