@@bilnabiln Or even like an evolution - saying what the used for Oshin, and then what they did with Is The Is Are and then Deceiver - they said in an interview with the NME (on KZbin) that they had simplified their live rig (less effects), but replaced pedals that they had since they were 16 with better quality pedals - I've seen on Equipboard and Reddit forums that they're using Eventide Reverb and quite a few JHS pedals now

Great video, i wish i hadn't parted with my PS2 after hearing it on this and your other video. I found running a Strymon Big Sky with the Space Echo and an MXR Analog Chorus gets to a nice slowdive sound - depending on which guitar i'm using then it either just needs a clean boost (i use Boss Line selector with the channel gunned or an OCD set with no dirt) or an MXR Distortion + into a RAT will do much the same...
@pedalpartners
@pedalpartners 3 жыл бұрын
sweet set up! the ps-2 is a unique gem, still to come across anything else like. i'm a a big fan of all boss pedals, but the rarer gems are always a worthwhile addition to any collection!

Ok good. I don't feel weird anymore for having only four delays and four overdrives (BD2) on my board...lol. Not suggesting these to sound like the band as you already nailed it in the video...but for future experimentation.... I'd definitely suggest again the Catalinbread EchoRec. You can fine tune its parameters inside with trim pots and select switches. Check out YT. Out of print...well worth the money before they go Klon Centaur prices. Nice dark repeats that vapor nicely *sniffs cork* with the reverb and plenty of good settings. I want to eventually run it at 18volts isolated input as it's supposedly great headroom like the beaucoup bucks of the Belle Epoch deluxe. We shall see but at 9volts it's already a winner. Definitely like the Roland space echo as well. Putting it on my hit list. I am still Kicking myself for not getting an old one used at GC. But I think the newer version you used is more reliable and still sounds way better than say a mxr carbon copy (which imo... isn't). My current four delays are: Catalinbread Echorec. Boss Terra Echo (always on). Tc Electronic Transition. Keeley Caverns2 (reverb is always on) then Run em stereo out to Roland JC 120 (C'mon let him get one P) And Orange Dark Terror into 4x12 celestions. Six speakers of ridonkulous (sic) & therefore is attenuated as I have neighbors home during Covid as well. I run JC120 + JC77 if I want to quadtriphonic to the land of chorus verb vibe fun. Especially if you get both choruses or chorus/vibe in phase...at different speeds...and inputs... Hokey Smokey Batman. Peace from Detroit...where my basement looks as if a Jules Vern squid made of guitar cables exploded... B
@pedalpartners
@pedalpartners 4 жыл бұрын
that's about the right amount tbh Brian ;) glad you enjoyed the sounds! about the echorec - i REALLY want one! if not for some shoegaze sounds, for that classic pink floyd sound. really nothing else like it, will have to check out the catalinbread, didn't know it was discontinued! the dd-200 has a "drum" delay setting based on the echorec & it's one of my fave things on that pedal (along with the tape setting - based on the space echo of course). i haven't had the chance to try an original space echo, but would love to! the pedal form is much smaller for sure! awesome you have the tera echo, such an amazing sound! love your amp set up, still working on getting me a 120 (or two) ;) may your cables unravel soon! thanks again, luca

@lzryd 4 жыл бұрын
@@pedalpartners Thanks Luca. Yeah when I click it on it ...its Gilmour Jr time...leads or slapback pink floyd rhythm. I thought it was OOP but I could be wrong. I think $130-160 USD is a good price on the used market (eBay). Not Analogman or Klon yet. The originals like the Binson and even the big version of the Roland space echo were analog or some used tapes and as such (with moving parts) they are expensive to maintain. Glimour himself had problems with breakdowns while on tour. Keith Richards can have two Fulltone tube tape echo aka TTE machines...at over $1200 USD each with actual tape reels most cannot afford them. Which is why your channel is cool, as every GC around here has Boss. They are reliable and easily replaced on tour (Steve Vai, JHS, Paul Gilbert all make this point as well). Look at it this way your two jc40 (I thought you had two) have the same capability plus WAY better distortion as we spoke of before. My audiologist disagrees that louder = better. I still am Lady Gaga over the Sabbra Cadabra as I play heavy stuff at times. Treble booster were foreign to me... But until I solve my isolated power issues it does not stack with other gain stages. Any isolated power supplies you use and would recommend? I'm looking at the voodoo labs as I need that one 18v slot for the Echorec.

"we don't have a RAT or anything similar..." About time that the guys at Walrus send you one of their Iron Horses. Really curious about that pedal in a shoegaze setting. One question regarding the PS-2. I bought one recently, but did Slowdive only used this effect for its delay (and of course the infamous oscillation) or also for the pitch shift settings?
