@@cartooncritique6625 Or maybe if it had been shown that he had been for whatever reason despised by most of the other stormtroopers he grew up with, and the constant victim of bullying by them, and his only friend had been that other trooper who died in the first moments of the first movie. Then he might feel a bit sorry for them in theory, but in practice he'd hate everybody even if he, again, in theory, would maybe admit that there are probably some other individuals like he and his deceased friend among them. But since he doesn't know who might be like that, and they are trying now all to kill him anyway... who cares. Damn. He could have been a very interesting character if any attention had been given to him and his arch - well, if he had been given an arch in the first place. But all wasted.

Dear Paul, I am writing to express my deep gratitude for the joy and laughter that your channel brings into my life. As someone who often finds themselves feeling dreary and overwhelmed, your irreverent and unapologetically hilarious content has been a welcome respite from the stresses of everyday life. Whether it's the ridiculous jokes that make me laugh until my sides hurt, or the absurd sketches that somehow manage to toe the line between disgusting and hilarious, your channel always manages to put a smile on my face and lift my spirits. The irreverent atmosphere of your channel feels like home to me, and I am so grateful to have found a place where I can let go of my worries and just enjoy the absurdity of it all. @@themanwhosoldyou9545 I watched it once. It was days later when I was reminded that they were still going to make another movie dealing with this ruined story and betrayed characters. I was at a loss as to why, though. They had to pay JJ Abrams super-whore money to get him to go anywhere near Ep IX, because no one else was at all eager to do so. HOWEVER. In terms of "total entertainment derived from the movie", I must say I more than got my money''s worth from The Last Jedi. I hesitate to even call it fanfiction because that would imply they were fans. JJ appropriates symbols with no understanding of WHY it's symbolic and Rian didn't even like Star Wars and admitted as much and while TLJ was the final nail in the coffin, TFA already set us on a bad path by making Han and Leia a divorced couple and Luke fucking off to some planet and leaving his sister to face the rising darkness ALONE. No these aren't fans. JJ is only a "fan" in the superficial sense whose understanding is only surface level and a filmmaker who likes to think his shit doesn't stink and whose personal ethos is making a divisive film ON PURPOSE. I've already consigned this "trilogy" to the dustbin of history and pretend it doesn't exist. THIS is what they nuked the EU for? Even though they can't keep the continuity straight and oh yeah, STEALING ship designs from fans without acknowledging the creator. And the evil emperor behind it all: Kathleen "I'll Burn All This Silly Nonsense To The Ground" Kennedy. It's ironic. The story of her rise to power would make any Sith Lord proud. She backstabbed George when he needed her to be in his corner and fight for his ideas only to take his creation and twist it into a misshapen monstrosity that would be right at home in Silent Hill. I'll stick to 1-6 and the old EU. At least there Luke, Han, and Leia are happily married with kids of their own and probably the most badass Skywalker of all: CADE SKYWALKER.

I just watched Spaceballs last night and I was shocked at how many parallels it accidentally has with the Sequel Trilogy. The Last Jedi basically turned Kylo, Hux, and Snoke into Dark Helmet, Colonel Sanders and Skroob, and both movies have a plot point about illegal parking. In Spaceballs, you have the part with Dark Helmet saying to Lone Star “I am your blah blah blah cousin’s roommate which makes us absolutely nothing” (paraphrased of course) which is like Kylo telling Rey she comes from nothing. Then at the end of Spaceballs Lone Star is revealed to be a prince, which is like Rey learning she’s the granddaughter of Palpatine. But unlike TROS, Spaceballs actually set up him being a prince.

It was more of a parallel to the scene in the Empire Strikes Back, where Luke Skywalker sees a vision of Darth Vader, but upon striking the image of Darth Vader's head clean off its corporeal body, he sees that inside the helmet is actually his own face, representing the obvious implications that Vader might indeed be more significance to him as a character and also showing how Luke could easily be lured to the dark side if he wasn't careful. @@DrumEagle Look at the older Picard episodes he got input from his crew, while Holdo I have a plan but won't tell you. To me Last Jedi tried to be more of a comedy then a star wars film. Force healing it's not bad for the EU but not a smart thing to put in a movie franchise in the end of a trilogy tying 9 films together. Did Qui Gon forget to teach Obi Wan that trick. Luke could have really saved his father could have just healed him. I guess if Leia can pull a Mary Poppins in space, Palpatine could have just force bubbled and flew away to Exogul. @bgm1975 I preferred their son, Ben Skywalker. But Rey could’ve fit better as a non-force sensitive. Make her clever and a thinker type of character. Similar to Mulan in the cartoon version. But like her, Rey have to learn her skill set over the course of the films. And not already have them at the start. Learn to fly a ship, better combat, learn to let people in (because she seemed more of distant person than how she was later portrayed in TFA) and rely on them, etc. Actual legitimate character progression.

" rebels and imperials siding agianst a bigger threat " That idea was done in the old expanded universe. They had so much to work with and they threw it away.

In the old expanded universe it took fifteen years for the galactic civil war to end. In Disney’s canon it took 1. Not to mention the imperials and new republic fighting together against the Vong was epic, unlike the sequels

It was considered a big deal when the Imperial Remnant allied itself with the New Republic to fight the Vong and was a turning point in the war along with Luke finding Zomina Skellot.

@@killerfrank8974 I watched the first of the new ones, and i felt it was already terrible... didnt watch the rest for a long time. I did eventually watch them all, because a buddy of mine said the others were worse (somehow) and i just had to see how that would be possible. Well.. it did not dissapoint on that front

Yeah, I was planning to just to say I saw the trilogy to the end after seeing the first two, but when Rise of Skywalker dropped, I didn’t really have money to go see it at the time it came out. After the reviews and stuff dropped, I’ve had no motivation to see it even after I got a better job and had money.
