Just as an update, since I made that comment above 3 months ago, I did actually sell the GSXR and bought a Z1000 (naked version), and I absolutely love my Z. The riding position is indeed much better for street use and the engine is far more usable with so much mid range torque. I no longer have to rev it to above 10k rpm to go fast. It's not so good at high speeds though so yes, on a race track, the supersport is definitely better. But for street use though, I stand by my original comments.

Another great vid. It goes to show how good the blade is. On a track only test the blade is never the best but as a package in the real world it shines.

No, Nurbergring is technically a public toll road. That is why mixed vehicles are allowed, and you have to pay for damages and towing etc. No race track would allow a public track day with cars and bikes on track at the same time, also no track day would make you pay to have your bike picked up and brought back to the pits!

The Hyperbikes, aka, Zx14R, Hayabusa are the Smart money bikes. You can go faster and further all day on these bikes.

yea i've had a change in mind after seing them in person, i still think the 1000rr face isn't as cool as the previous but it has some nice features, the 600 does look a little odd, it looks cheap. the new HUD on the 12' 1krr is really nice, that would be my only reason for purchasing it over a older 1krr.

They're absolutly right, when bikes are too track focused, they lose their usability on the road. I'd love to have the blade !

A 30bhp increase on a 15bhp 125 bike is a 200% increase in power. A 30bhp increase on a 150bhp 1000cc bike is a 20% increase. Big difference.

I guess ideally, you should have two bikes. One for street use, and one hardcore for track. That way you can keep your GSXR and also have something more comfortable. If you can afford it.

It's almost as if they're trying to sell a magazine/paper off the back of their teaser videos :P They did ride in the Nurburgring, so they did take the bikes on the track - just didn't show it.

My bad I was thinking of the autobahn, and that was just a guess anyway, I did a quick search and it says that you need permission prior before you film on the ring, so maybe if you just turn up with a camera they won't be too happy and not let you film, but if you have a prior arrangement and inform them how you intend to use the footage they will let you film.

I have a 2010 GSX-R750 and my next bike is that Z1000SX. Supersports are simply not suitable for anything longer than 30 mins of use. Yeah sure, I could do an all day stint, but why bother? Plus, a bike like the Z1000 actually has better handling at low speeds due to the position of your body.
