I love this conversation. I love the strength and vulnerability shared between you two.The weight of patriarchy weighs diffrently when you are preceived as male vs preceived as female. Women are viewed as prey and men are viewed as hunters...so to be in this world preceived as woman is scary. I love how empowering TS is she refuses to be ran over or mistreated. Thirteen years ago I worked for a Telecom Co. They dedicated a separate bathroom for the one trans woman on our floor because the women didn't want her in the ladies room, and the men didn't want her in the men's... Personally, I don't think the divide is as much as it seems in the black community, but black people are more vocal vs' others. I'm my field of work is always more of others than us. Trust, they have a lot of the same feelings on a lot of topics, but they don't voice them to the public, and are better at hiding their true feelings than we are.
