Um...yeah, need to correct you on the wing. That first appeared in the international version of Kingdom Hearts when he was added as an optional boss. The wing was later added in the original release of Advent Children as a nod to that game. Also in all other costumes other than 1P and 7P, the color of his Masamune's hilt changes red. This is actually what the Masamune looked like in the original FFVII.

I believe the wing goes deeper. Safer Sephiroth. The theme that plays when facing the form is literally called "One Winged Angel." A large, black wing is depicted on his right side (seemingly replacing his right arm). As a Side note, Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2 has an additional 2 wings on the lower part of his design, alluding further to Safer Sephiroth (heck, even the Original Kingdom Hearts design alludes to Safer, so we can assume the Wing came from there). Also, I've heard it's implied KH Sephiroth isn't the real deal, I've never actually played Kingdom Hearts.

Small correction. Advent Children might be his most famous 'One Wing' design, but the first time he ever had the One Wing was actually 3 years before Advent Children in 2002, during Kingdom Hearts. The wing's shape, however, has some stylistic differences and had some shades of blue in the feathers. Also, the costumes are purplish, green, reddish, blue and silver, right? You already mentioned a couple of these, but these may very well be Ultima Weapon, Emerald Weapon, Ruby Weapon, Sapphire Weapon and Diamond Weapon, respectively. I feel that if one is a reference to a weapon, they likely all are, especially as they all fit. Also, for those who don't know, in the later versions of FF7 where Diamond Weapon is a boss, Sapphire Weapon remains a cutscene only entity, who dies during its assault on Junon. A cannon shoots into its open mouth and blows its head off.

Fun fact about sephiroths one wing: him having one physical wing on his body first started in the Kingdom Hesrts series as Advent Children released after KH1. So the fact that Sephiroth summons a single wing as a power up became a thing due to his appearance in KH1, funny how his appearance in a SE developed Disney game has permanently impacted his appearance in FF7 related titles.

The wing (outside of Safer form) actually originates from Kingdom Hearts 1, which gave Cloud and Sephiroth matching black wings. Cloud had his on his left, Sephiroth on the right, as in KH, they are hinted to be two halves of one whole. Advent Children then included this part of Sephiroth's design, making the wing more realistic in the process, and from there it stuck.

I think the Green Alt is absolutely based on the Midgar Zolom because not only is the color scheme very similar, even with the slightly yellowish shoulder pads similar to the underbelly of the Zolom, but there's also an iconic cutscene where you see a giant dead Midgar Zolom that was killed by Sephiroth, which shows his power because that enemy likely killed the player several times and then you get to see how Sephiroth killed it brutally and with ease. So that connection with Sephiroth is there.

few things noted: Sephiroth's main costumes are based on either the Jenova forms, or Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond and Emerald weapon. the2nd shirtless costume just shares the red costume refrence. For the Barret mii costume. the spirit battle that uses it also has a refrence to the other members of Avalanche, Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie. The 3 are also often reoccuring characters in the FF series. the Chocobo hat's design is exclusively based on the form used for the mascot. which appears in numerous spinoff titles.

I could imagine it continuing from Sephiroth’s trailer, Cloud has been bested by Sephiroth who is preparing to finish off Cloud. However, a beam blasts Sephiroth away, even breaking his sword, a whirl of energy flies at Sephiroth blowing him up or obliterating his legs which one’s allowed, the other Smash fighters look up to see that Geno was the one who dealt such blows to the one winged angel. Cue character announcement screen and gameplay. Sephiroth has taken a such harsh blows, and is attempting to crawl towards Geno who promptly uses Geno Beam, finishing him off.

People being upset about Geno not becoming an actual fighter, meanwhile I’m thinking eh this was expected. I mean heck some indie game characters have been more relevant than Geno ever was in games other than Smash. While I do appreciate Sakurai trying, and I respect the man for the effort he and his team put into making these characters translate into SSB. I just never saw Nintendo going along with making Geno an actual fighter. I am glad though that Geno still at least gets to be a mii fighter again.
