I have just come across your Channel, I’m no sailor but have been religiously following and living vicariously through La Vagabond and Parlay Revival for years. I’m so stoked to see another Aussie Couple I can watch. Have just binged from the beginning and I’ll tell you now this channel will blow up! Onwards and upwards well done!

Can I recommend you watching ‘Slim and Soph-sailing Nakama’ and ‘Free Range Sailing’. They have both done what you are doing now; circumnavigating Australia. There are lots of useful hints to be learned from them both.

Free Range are one of our favourite channels! We first started watching them soon after we learned about sailing, they’ve taught us so much! Also love Slim & Soph’s stuff, extremely well made and informative vids ~ we have a lot to learn from many 😊

Hey Peter, it’s awesome how well she performs considering there is a lot of room for improvement on our sail trimming. Oh well, something to work towards! Cheers, Josh

@@Thenewkidsonthedock yeah, as a sail trimmer on a racing yacht I do cringe sometimes haha. "Kids", keep up the good (hard) work and the channel will grow. A sailmaker company will be calling you up soon

Great video, but the way you had the mainsail reefed and set for downwind ….eek!

Well done. Thank goodness not all your sails weren't this great, you never would have learned anything. 🙃 I'm very glad that this turned out so well. Your anchorage at the end of this video is out of a story book. Nice recovery on Pheobe keeping you on course Josh, that's not a hill you want to die on. Stay safe. ❤🙏

Great content guys. Did you get into Butterfly Bay? That is similarly spectacular. The cod towards the end of this episode is a brown-marbled grouper (cod) Epinephilus fuscoguttatus. Might bump into you when you pass Townsville.

For pity's sake let the main out! That Adams is a reasonably quick boat. If in doubt - let it out.

Hey mate, we face palm over our early sailing techniques often. The reason it’s not out more is we needed to rig a preventer. Short passage, more effort. Already doing great boat speeds and it was comfortable. If we had a reliable auto pilot I would have plenty more time to tune sails but as is I need to be at the helm constantly when the boats running ‘ok’ we just run with it. No harm done apart from the nervous system 😅. Cheers, Josh

Looks like your boat is aluminum. Do you get any problems with condensation and have you had any problems with corrosion in the bilges etc.

Figures Australia would have a giant man eating tadpole. Just think of the size of the frog.

LOL. Josh gently speaking to Phoebe: "She is sort of keeping us on course". Or similar words. My girlfriend, Karin, is far worse. Last year we left for Vlieland from IJsselmeer (Kornwerderzand). She took the helm. After a while I said: "OK. Apparently you changed plans. We are going to Ameland. Fine with me." I am a very flexible person. However, she said she wanted to go to Vlieland. So I took over, passed her book to her and both were happy. Karin is always easily distracted. Maybe that is the thing with females? 😇
