I just watched Morrisey's version and then this. They're both different but equally beautiful. I can't even imagine watching them do this song together. I feel like they both play this song with such emotion because this song has taken on new meaning. If you search Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want Live on KZbin, you get Morrisey and then Marr. They both perform the hell out of the song. It's almost creates this "This song says exactly what drove us apart. We both have what we want and now we are apart. It's bittersweet" It's truly sad and you can see it in their faces. I wonder if they think about their time in the Smiths more when they do this song than any other song.

It goes without saying that this performance is sheer brilliance in every way. I would add that although band reunion tours are a dime a dozen, a Smiths reunion tour would be massively successful. Smiths / Morrissey fans have spent decades living with this music, and many are in their 40's - 50's. The devotion to the Morrissy / Marr brand is hard to overstate and it never really ends. Who is your favorite all time band? "The Smiths." Who is your second favorite all time band? "I don't have one."
