I moved to Oklahoma in 1984 and began watching UWF on Saturday night - best shows ever.

The best year for Mid South was 1984.

I remember when Mid-South/UWF broke into the Philly TV market in early 1986 as part of their national expansion, airing a two-hour block -- first on channel 65 (low-powered TV station in Vineland, NJ and then moving over to Philly 57) -- every Saturday between 8-10pm (Power Pro Wrestling followed by UWF) with this incredible, passionate, screaming announcer named Jim Ross. Great, fast-paced action and storylines.

Amazing how Jim mentions the sad cycle a lot of wrestlers face starting off and finishing in the high school gyms 😢.

Imagine thinking working in HS gyms is "sad" . Gyms & armories ARE professional wrestling .

@@yoholmes273hen you wrestle at Wrestlemania and huge stadiums, it is a huge step down. Like a former major leaguer finishing his career at his local towns semi-pro team.

Mid-South seemed more “real” compared to the circus WWF was with all the gimmicks & flash. Could never get a handle on Jake wearing purple spandex battling the silly looking Macho Man. Jim looks amazing here , he was soo awesome in Mid South.

I still don't like WWE/WWF because of how Vince raided all the good talent and didn't use them right.
